It's been that way since about the 2nd month of the website's existence. The only open registrations were right when they left Gaf. You're more likely to behave when they make you dox yourself to sign up.

Which makes it extra funny when they ban some dude after five years and 10,000 posts because he went against the Thing of the Week. That's how good we are, hiding in plain sight until Null sends the code that it's time to upset some troon about Dave Chappelle or some video game podcast.

I wonder how these retards live day to day, knowing on some level that they are nothing more than zoo animals that people keep tabs on and then point and laugh. This is their reality now, they have nowhere else to go since even reddit or twitter is not astroturfed enough for them. They NEED their little safespace. Same goes for Facepunch/Knockout, to a degree
