Anyway, in the other thread, I mentioned that on Friday my mom is going to work dressed in all black (as a show of mourning) and refusing to watch a single minute of coverage, which is a great idea. How to deal with Alt+Right employees?

So I just got into a conversation with two of my employees that are trump supporters and while I have an issue with that it's not what bother me the most. When racism was brought up I mentioned that trump never disavowed the KKK and talked about the negativity it brings, they went straight to how "at least he doesn't condone and encourage the killing of cops."

Seriously WTF!? I had to walk away at this point. I don't know what else to say/do. Just mentioned that I won't bring up politics with them anymore.

At my work we fire them. Don't need bigots in healthcare.

As a teacher for instance I would actively work to get any colleague of mine fired if I knew they were supporters of the BNP as there is no way they can reconcile their racist views with the modern reality of the classroom.

When one political party supports policies that actively harm millions, it's not a disagreement. It'd be wrong not to can their asses.

I don't care whether people disagree. If a person can use the term "men/man" distinct from "male" but are unable to even afford the same consistency with "women/woman" and "female" then they are automatically suspect as holding sexist views whether they're conscious or not. If they're at least consistent in their obnoxious lexicon than that's slightly different. But I've yet to encounter an individual who says "to the males and females".

If they are ACTUAL Alt-Right Trumpskis, then you have to stop talking to them as though you are trying to reason with them.

Alt-Right think very primitively, so when you try to reason with them that just emboldens them to continue being assholes. If you want to actually make them stop, you have to match tit for tat and just talk to them with no respect whatsoever. Start saying shit like:

Things like that will defang them because it hurts them in their own shitty "language".

And when they inevitably complain about you talking to them in such a way, just respond with "I thought you dumbasses hated political correctness. Or does that only apply when it's you bitching about minorities like a fucking idiot?"

Have you thought about debating or arguing with them? Maybe they'll show their true colours, and then if that happens to be bigoted, you can reprimand them.

Fire them. Use some other reason to fire them or to give them home office. Like you said, that kind of thinking is toxic and with the current landscape it will be even worse.

So Ni-Oh looks looks incredible and it's been getting rave reviews, yet I am disappointed that of all the possible options that Team Ninja & Tecmo Koei could have done with their game set in 17th century. According to Wikipedia:

Moreover, and most importantly, Team Ninja & Tecmo Koei still chose to have William as the protagonist and in the marketing, i.e. of all the possible options on the table, they decided to use the historical figure of William as a base for a story about slaying demons. While I respect their choice, it's still just yet another white dude in a non-Western setting that we've seen many times before, and they could've gone in so many other different directions.

People will also say that it's possible to use the Disguises to switch up the appearance of William, but the problem is that (1) this is something that has to be unlocked later on via in-game currency, (2) the William character in the story remains the same throughout the narrative and (3) the Disguise appearance won't be affected by the armor you wear. It's just a simple mesh-swap basically.

People might also that that Team Ninja & Tecmo Koei are Japanese companies, so therefore their decision to have yet another white dude in an Eastern setting is entirely okay. In my opinion, while it is good that we have non-Western companies out there making games, it is unfortunate that Team Ninja & Tecmo Koei thinks that their game won't be interesting or financially successful if it's with a Japanese or a non-European protagonist.

I know, creative freedom (or relying on the flawed assumption that white dudes sell the most in the West for some reason) and all that, but I still think it's a missed opportunity and yet another drop in the vast ocean that is white dudes in non-Western settings. Team Ninja already included Yasuke, a black male samurai based of the few Samurai with African origin, so if they wanted to have gone with the "Audience Surrogate" trope, they could've opted for something different than the norm. And even if they really needed the protagonist to be from Europe and white, why not make it a female one instead?

It's not like we have a ton of diverse protagonists in major titles and we already are swamped in White Dudes enough as it is (although things are improving a bit). Regardless of their motivations, it's unfortunate that even a Japanese company reproduces this dominating Whiteness. It's simply a missed opportunity.

If this criticism is unwarranted of this particular one game, please lock and mock. I hope I haven't offended anyone, but if so, I apologize.

Whenever I hear pundits, politicians, media, and people on the street going on and on about protecting their country and to be safe from terrorists and any attacks, it's so incredibly toxic and nauseating considering all the damage that the US as a military superpower have done to millions of lives throughout the world. The recent Yemen attack reminded me once more how incredibly hypocritical the US can be with how fucking insane the media and politicians and overall populace would've reacted if someone had invaded their country and killed a bunch of citizens without any mandate.

And this is the same over and over again. Invading Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos and killing the people there? Invading Iraq and Afghanistan resulting in hundreds of thousands of lives lost and the destablization of an entire region? The No Gun Ri Massacre during the Korean war? Supplying weapons and money to Pinochet and overthrowing the democratically elected president Allende in Chile in the 70's? And Iran as well in the 60's. Guantanamo? CIA torture programs? Drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen? The drug war in Central and South America? What do these politicians, pundits, and people think about all the lives lost and damaged because of the US? Imagine if any of these had been done on US soil, like how much you would despise a country doing these things to you? Do you have any idea how much pain and hurt the country has done? And no one ever gets punished for what they did (Kissinger, Bush, Rumsfeld, McNamara, etc.).

And that's just the international issues. Think of all the domestic murder of Black US citizens, the prison industrial complex, mass surveillance, the lack of welfare and healthcare, the police violence against everyone, gun violence, etc. And you know that some white guy going on a killing spree is never called terrorism and instead it's just some lone wolf, and not someone who was radicalized by the nazi and white supremacist networks.

Yet the population and the politicians and the media carry on with their daily oblivious lives and think that the country is pure and virtuous, and any form of US extrajudicial killing is automatically accepted by almost everyone. But if any so-called 'terror attack' (read: some brown person going on a killing spree) happens, then people lose their minds and are ready to go to war and any sense of morality goes out the window. It's absolutely disgusting to listen to considering the awful and inhumane things that the US does.

How the hell do I get in contact with someone at Microsoft's Xbox kiosk management?

I went into a gamestop today, and had quite the shitty experience for something so minor. I had a few games to trade, because there was something at this particular store that I wanted. One of the games I had was a physical copy of Skylanders Superchargers Racing for Wii. The guy working the register couldn't find the game, but when the manager came and helped him, she noticed that she only saw a listing for "superchargers" not "superchargers racing"....I tried telling her, there was no other version on the Wii, they just list it as that because that's the name of the rest of the versions. Even the 3DS version says just superchargers, and not superchargers racing in their computer, even though racing was the only version they had.

Anyway, I tried to reason with the manager at first saying "it's just because that's how it's listed, that's still the same game..." she kept debating with me, instead of hearing what I was saying. Admittedly I was getting annoyed and said something like "How can you work at gamestop and not know that there was no other version of the game on the wii" And i said she was stupid somewhere in this sentence, and she claimed I was harassing her and wanted to call the police.

I got real upset by this, grabbed my games, and left. On my way out, I kicked one of their displays, and this must've been too close to the guy working for Microsoft, because he got all pissy at me and suddenly screamed "you hit me!" and ran up to me, and kicked me from behind. I tried saying "what, sorry, i didnt mean to do anything to you" and he just screamed at me "ill give you sorry by breaking your fucking face in"

Regardless of what i did, that is no fucking way for this asshole who was representing microsoft to treat me. I would have called the police, but because the manager was being a bitch to me, and the guy working the counter had a smug look on his face, it was going to be 3 against 1 if i did anything.

I need to get in contact with microsoft, and report this asshole to his management, but i don't know how.
