I mean it's all very relative but the Roman Empire was more "progressive" than pretty much everywhere else when it came to women's issues.

Athens kinda has the reputation of being the faggy leftist paradise of it's day but actually that reputation is somewhat unearned. Women in Athens stayed in the home and couldn't really show themselves in public. Large gatherings like plays, concerts, etc. were all dudes. Roman women were given a lot more freedom, were present at public festivities and social events, and often wielded quite a bit of power and influence if they were ambitious enough.

Speaking of Nero, he was actually the first person in recorded history to get gay married to his former slave Pythagoras. Maybe kinda as a joke but it led to gay marriage becoming a fad in the upper echelons of Roman society for a while. I just finished a biography on Nero and it was a very interesting read.

The people quoting how much it cost to make keep getting shit on and disregarded too. I mean, Veilguard was a massive failure and it sold almost 2 million copies.

Its an Ubisoft AAAA game where 1 month of dev time costs them 20 million bucks by their own admission. Before marketing, its easily 300 to 400 million dollar budget. The team was so bloated, the credits are over 2 hours long. They arent even releasing sales figures, its just players of the game, since a statistically important number of the players are getting it for free due to giveaways and as part of subscription services.

Assassins Creed Shadows is going to legit need 10+ million actual sales to break even. Even if it is successful, Ubisoft is going to lay off hundreds if not thousand of people because their teams are so bloated.

I just wish Resetera actually cared about video games and understood the industry they are part of. Like yeah, ACShadows has 2 million players, but unless that number continues to skyrocket its a huge fucking failure because Ubisoft are horrible at making video games for a decade.

Assassins Creed Shadows is going to legit need 10+ million actual sales to break even. Even if it is successful, Ubisoft is going to lay off hundreds if not thousand of people because their teams are so bloated.

When you consider that the credits roll is ~2 hours only then can you understand what an expensive clusterfuck of outsourcing it has become.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what the investor-call is gonna look like as it is the only time when companies are not allowed to lie and use propaganda.
