It's resetera, but I am sure a similar thread was created not too long ago. Really, no idea what prompts this kind of thought process. Might as well ask what is your favorite game where you kill the shit out of Congolese cobalt miners ? Who is looking for something that specific in a video game ?

To use their terms, talking about killing Nazis is a left-wing dog whistle for using violence against right wing opposition. They pretend to be obtuse about it when called out (i.e. “I’m just talking about killing Nazis. Nazis are evil and deserve to die. You shouldn’t be worried if you’re not a Nazi!”), knowing the rhetoric technique they employ where they call people that are on the right Nazis. It’s frustrating to see these smug faggots continue to imply this kind of call to violence and get away with it.

I am a nazi and everyone I know are fellow nazis too.
I was told I was a nazi when I disagreed on a very trivial issue with a leftie and I have not changed my mind on the issue.

I am also against men in womens sport making me a turbo nazi. I am proud to be a nazi.

Tomodachi is a first party nintendo social sim game series from 2009 where you create miis and use them in game like Sims. The real game anyone cared about was 2013's Tomodachi Life on the 3DS. I never played it because by the time it came out I was long off of handhelds, but the Wiki says "You can add Miis and they'll do all sorts of things. They can hold rap battles, have chats, have children, work at a store, play Frisbee, and more. You can even help them by buying them clothes, feeding them, and making them fall in love." Its a family friendly style game like the sims basically but with less gameplay than the sims. Its about creating relationships, whether friendships or marriages with kids. Its a nintendo first party game, so it sells millions.

Anyway, the controversy is because back in 2014 or so when Tomodachi Life was big here in the US, the game allowed for anyone to get married, no matter the character's gender, and it was pushed as an inclusive game here in the US, but then nintendo came out and claimed it was a glitch and that they didnt support gay marriage, they said outright that they didnt want any political statements in their games, so they pushed a patch that removed gay miis. The backlash was very big in the west because they not only removed a feature, but targeted gays during a very pivotal time in US politics when gay marriage was in the forefront of news, and right before Obergefell was decided. Whether you personally dislike gays or think thats based, it was really dumb of nintendo when a majority of their purchasers disliked the change and supported gay marriage.

Nintendo famously apologized about it, but stated they wont change it this time, the decision was already made and they dont want political statements in a game during a big political movement, even one that has wide national support. So they stated, pretty openly, that they will create the next Tomodachi game to be inclusive to gays, which placated most people.

Of course, this is Nintendo in the late teens and early 2020s, they hate making video games, especially if its not their top franchises, so Tomodachi died off and didnt get another game and everyone assumed the franchise was fully killed off. The latest Nintendo Direct surprised literally everyone with a new Tomodachi game. Since this is post-switch nitnendo here, they are really famous now for being a forerunner of those games with "Gender A and B" while also being the least censorship focused console publisher now, somehow. Everyone I've talked to about it fully assumes nintendo will either go fully agnostic "Gender 1 and 2" without any limits on marriage and kids; or they just remove marriage entirely and invent some bullshit "friendship" that lets you have kids appear.

But yeah, when Tomodachi was announced for 2026, I immediately asked my partner if they said they will have gays in it, because that is essentially the ONLY thing the series is remembered for lmao. I instantly clicked that Resetera topic knowing they would be tantrum spiraling on each other where half of them saying they will buy it while the other half are scolding the others telling them to hold off until the gays are confirmed, because thats literally the only thing that matters to Resetera: performative purchasing.

Tomodachi Life is an Animal Crossing style game that first came out on the 3DS about a decade ago. It wasn't bad. A bit weird.
