Like, 7-10 years ago, all gaming news came from GAF. Every single gaming story had 'Source:NeoGAF' at the bottom, on every website. That's why Malka got offered millions for an outdated phpBB forum - he accidentally made a monopoly.

I don't envy the man. That missed opportunity will weigh on him until he dies.

It reminds me of Lowtax, who declined a similar opportunity and is now stuck with an unprofitable website.

Compare that to Tom Anderson, who did sell MySpace for millions and now has so much money that he doesn't have to worry about anything any more.

Or Eric Bauman, who sold out the complete fuckhole that is ebaumsworld for nearly $20 million. Imagine that. Someone bought ebaumsworld for millions of dollars.

Sources close to Malka said that he got offered around $5 million for NeoGAF at a time when NeoGAF was growing. That is a lot of money but it's not "fuck you" money where he could just live in his Austin high rise apartment and spend all day fucking former Miss Texas contestants. He probably gambled on his site growing forever or to the point where he'd get offered $10 million or something like that. Instead NeoGAF peaked around E3 2013 and has been on a decline ever since. I doubt he could get even $500,000 for it now. He's totally fucked. Nice job :like:

Five million dollars won't buy you the world, but you can quit working and relax for the rest of your life if you conservatively invest it. Guys like him and lowtax don't realize they hit the lottery and should sell out. They think they're a genius and the boom times will last forever. I don't know if I could handle having a five million dollar property and not selling it only for it to become worthless. I 'd probably jump off a bridge.

If they looked too "rural" they were safely assumed to be racist pro-Trup alt righters, not having a mailing address that ends in "terrace" instead of "road" is all the proof they need!

As someone who identifies as on the spectrum (because I was diagnosed), Sara Ryder autism jokes are funny and make her more endearing IMO

Still not going to play that game though, because the series died halfway through ME3 for me.
