Its actually pretty great the amount of Infighting this has caused. Its like watching a sandcastle some kids have build for a few hours finally get finished, only for there mum to come over, kick the shit out of the castle, piss on the floor and run off with some local black dude.

I would be extremely surprised if Evilore was not thinking now 'Fuck, I did nothing wrong, how many times has this happened to other innocent people before?'
What if this leads to him absorbing the Red Pill due to finding out that the SJW community is causing some serious harm with these easy rape allegations. I would heartily laugh if he becomes the exact opposite of what he is atm.

I would argue that maybe you could salvage the place if you had controlled anarchy, and set up moderators to only ban for things that are literally illegal and otherwise just let it run its course. An open place to talk about video games where you don't really have to worry about politics and shit wouldn't be a bad thing, especially after GG. I'm not sure if NeoGAF is capable of this (I agree with you, I think they're too far gone), but I do think it's theoretically possible.

No matter what happens though, I don't think the big name media sites will be using Neogaf for reporting purposes anymore.
 
m0dus is a long time moderator. His day job is at Truant Pixel, making some of the ugliest PS4 themes and avatars known to man. He made the Neogaf ones. I think he might've provided Evilore with tech support.

I don't think NeoGAF's nadir came over the weekend. I think it came long before then.

Frankly at this point, someone should message the Dust Developer and tell him to back the fuck outta dodge now because there is nothing left worth salvaging now.

Having a community entirely about gaming with a no politics rule would be impossible to enforce. It'd be like having a no politics rule in music or something. Half of rap songs are, and everything Macklemore makes is, about social inequalities. Having a no politics rule essentially amounts to a "everything in rap music is true" rule, and songs like "Kill all the Gays and the Faggots" would be hatespeech violating the no politics rule.

Movies are the same. Get Out is now considered the 4th best movie of all time and rides 2 positions behind fucking Citizen Kane. Was it a good movie? Sure. But why is it the 4th best movie of all time with an audience approval score 10 points below the critical score? Because critics eat up that racist slop like it's fucking ambrosia. Can't say that with a no politics rule.

Gimping discussion with arbitrary rules like that never works. If the full range of discussion isn't on the table then really nothing is.

I think he's trying to get rid of the soc jus crowd, and in a very hamfisted way too..

It's impossible to completely avoid politics in games.. Some games like MGS are almost all political & social arguments..
