Lots of speds are changing their social media handles to end with ERA even though the site hasn't opened. Are they aware that gaf was capitalized because it was an acronym?

I'm looking forward to the implosion of Resetera. First they'll finally open with more mods than non-mods. Then they'll echo-chamber a bit and wonder why no one is taking them seriously, nor will they figure out why they aren't getting more members ("Oh, according to your Twitter history you liked a tweet once from a Trump supporter. OUT OUT OUT!"). Meanwhile, it becomes readily more apparent that a troon civil war is building which sends more members packing. Eventually it shuts down when it cannot pay for itself.

And a Community Watch thread will document it all from day one.

NeoGAF itself stole the GAF part. It's not a trademark or anything (the GAF part). I'm not even sure about NeoGAF. Was it even used in commerce?

Let's put it in perspective here. I was recently offered an in house lawyer's job with a (UK) Government Department for which I have to go through vetting. They sent me a huge online form recently with borked software (thanks to government IT projects being uniformly shite) in which they wanted my dox, my parents' dox, the dox of my parents' partners, the dox of anyone I was in a relationship with for the past 5 years, historical dox in terms of address going back 10 years, the dox of all my past employers for the past 5 years, a criminal records check, a credit check, details of whether I've ever been refused a credit card or loan EVER, whether I've ever been taken action through the Courts over bad debt or repossession, and similar. Yet I could still sign up with my bargain-basement Gmail account that I use for everything meatspace. Which makes a fucking mid level national security vetting in Britain less exacting and probably faster to go through than getting into ResetEra.
