They decided that he's a sexist pig because they dug up some tweets he made years ago in support of Gamergate and going against modern neo-feminist values. He's already disowned those tweets and said that he's a much different person now than he was then (likely due to pressure by Microsoft) but somehow these people are extrapolating those tweets to mean that the game is about feminism taking over the world. He has at no point stated that his game has anything to do with feminism.

He tweeted a couple times in favor of GG way back at the start and that was pretty much it. To my knowledge he's never at any point claimed to be putting GG in his game, just other topics NeoGaf finds offensive. Since everything NeoGaf doesn't like = GG that means his game = GG.

There's no doubt he was/is pro-GG (probably even more-so now) but the only person who knows what his game is going to be about at this point is him.

If I understood the above video correctly, his cyberpunk game explores what would happen if everyone was essentially a NEET (Because all jobs are fully automated, even the creative ones), knowing that, you can see how this triggers them:

1. Cyberpunk & its tropes, as far as I know, has nearly always been written from the leftist's POV: Oppressive Government, Class Divisions & warfare, protagonists typically trigger massive & sudden changes in society...etc., this may be the 1st prominent Cyberpunk work (That I know of), that is written from a perspective that's righter-than-left, if not an outright conservative POV.
2. Given that the game looks like it will criticize the NEET problem, and most SJWs are good-for-nothing bums, and in NeoGAF/ResetEra's case, psychopath/sociopath bums. Video games have a huge capacity to produce teachable moments, because of their interactivity & incentivization of repetition, which is why SJWs REALLY don't want to see opposing opinions/criticism on vidya as a platform.
   
3. The typical manufactured outrage that NeoGAF and its salty offshoots always try.

Oh, and one last thing, fuck those Gaffers who claim or try to insinuate that this game looks like every other 16-bit based game.. It may yet turn out to be a garbage game, but it's very very distinctive looking..

He is a GGer, and judging by his reaction to the 'Tyler scandal', he clearly showed that that apology was just to make the REEEEing go away so he can achieve his dream in peace.

Class strife and oppressive government are definitely hallmarks of cyberpunk dystopia, but I wouldn't say treating them as the antagonist force is especially leftist in nature, and I definitely don't think this game looks like it's coming from the other side in any way. If anything it's a commentary on how neet culture becomes the oppressive government - different origin than the typical megacorps you see in Alien or Blade Runner maybe, but I see the theme as too much power run amok because its target demographic let it happen. Different origin, same shit. Left vs Right need not even be considered.

It makes sense the SJWs would ree at having their own ideas criticized, as if criticism of societal trends wasn't the entire fucking point of sci-fi as a genre.
