Their idea of communism is essentially just the government stealing all the money from rich people and giving it to them, so that they can spend all day on Twitter or playing video games while making as much money as people with real jobs and skillsets.

That really boils it down into a very simple point. "I'm the victim, take everyone else's stuff and give it to me" doesn't make for a viable societal structure when everyone believes it about themselves and no one among the supporters is willing to give up their own comfort and happiness, but they all place themselves at the top of the stack and that's why communism turns into a dehumanizing genocidal autocracy.

There was a lot of chatter about Ayn Rand and objectivism when Bioshock made the topic popular, but for all that the game satirized objectivism by calling all of the non-wealthy "parasites", this is literally parasitical in nature. It's hyperbolic to say that all of them are asking for free money (though some of the "socialism" theories do seem to boil down to that), but the ones asking for preferential hiring to high-paying jobs and special accommodations based off of whichever sort of oppression they've claimed would essentially be a burden on the system for zero return.

For real, there's far more posts in threads about stupid shit like "Why are women sexualized in games?" than in threads dedicated to games. At least GAF's game threads (particularly the OTs) had high post counts to make it look like they cared about games, ERA is so ridiculously lopsided that no one can honestly say that the site is about gaming.

I feel like it would be somewhat justified if there was more debate in threads like that. But because anyone who is "wrong" is banned or warned, it just ends up being a thread where everyone is just posting the same thing over and over again.

I've heard there was a "leak" on ResetEra about Devil May Cry V (yes, with roman number). Do you think it was a real thing or they just try to pretend that they are a new NeoGaf now?
