NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

I want to make a game and love designing characters, but I like designing female ones more. I'm not sure what I'd get more hate from. The people who will say I'm only doing it for "diversity points" or ResetEra because of impractical clothes in battle and also one of them has big tits.

Do the smart thing. Make it however you want, and when the outrage brigade opens fire on you, stand your fucking ground. You'll earn major props for sticking to your guns and that will translate to sales. It will also drive them fucking insane if you succeed, so win-win. Bonus points if you list journo outlets that slimed you in the press releases and promotional blurbs for your game ("Polygon hates it!"). The more you stick it to them, the more you're likely to attract the kind of people who will support you just for the sake of fucking with people they hate, and rest assured, These people play video games.

This dude literally murdered someone with gross negligence. Even if the recipient lived, that very valuable organ perished.

That would also be the same asshat who intentionally fucked up medical procedures of people he suspected to be Republicans/Trump supporters ("I'm sorry, but I can't seem to get the vein" during bloodwork, for example), and then bragged about it on RetardEra.

ResetERA needs to be shut the fuck down. I am not exaggerating when I say this but their community has a big influence in the gaming industry, a hobby that I am passionate about is dying because of those wank stains.

Literally 90% of AAA developers have joined in on sjw bandwagon and contribute to that shitty toxic site. I have seen games been patched to accommodate white knight cucks, I have seen developers fired for making "misogynistic" games and any negative thing said about Anita cunteesian will get permanently banned.

Maybe its just society in general now that has declined so dramatically, everywhere I go I see sjw high estrogen cucks forcing their political views down everyones throats. Its getting out of hand and it needs to be stopped.

Calm down, my friend. ResetEra is nothing but a pale shadow of the power they used to wield on old NeoGAF; back then many devs used it so it was amazingly convenient for them to all arrange their little poutrage sessions in unison. The fragmentation of their base has, in essence, castrated their ability to leverage their numbers, and they've since fractured between several other communities that were willing to take in the GAFugees (ResetERA and Waypoint).

Their control's broken, and they've lost considerable sway. They're not going down without a fight, but their star is setting and they'll bleed themselves dry long before their opposition runs out of weaponized Autism.

I don't recall that. Caps or it didn't happen, because that's a clinical negligence case just waiting to happen.

He said it. Doesn't mean it happened. It's probably findable by dredging through the thread.

Found it.

Note, this guy wasn't banned for it, but they banned someone who complained about it.

Plebbit thread on the happening.

Then they quietly changed the username of the alleged malefactor. To "Already Torn."

That is very fucking twisted. "Someone doesn't agree with my politics so I should inflict actual real pain on them using my profession as an excuse." That's serial killer shit.

Just be thankful he wasn't a surgeon.

"Unfortunately the patient presented wearing a MAGA hat, so I didn't bother with cerebral perfusion during open heart surgery because I didn't think there was any brain to damage."

First, the WHO doesn't give money based on the ICD codes; insurers and public providers do.

Second, even though transgenderism is no longer considered a mental disorder in the ICD, it is still considered a disorder of "sexual health" and so is still associated with a billing code: https://icd.who.int/browse11/l-m/en#/http://id.who.int/icd/entity/411470068

Third, I'm not sure what country you live in, but the US will lag behind on this matter, not considering "Gaming Disorder" something billable until either it transitions to the ICD-11 (having just transitioned to the decades-old ICD-10 three years ago) or an update to the DSM includes a similar diagnosis (which is likely because the DSM-5 considered it to be something for further study). My un-educated guess is that the US will start recognizing this disorder as something billable in 2025.

Each response assumes I live in the US apart from response 2, which assumes that the UK uses American values.

Meanwhile in the UK: http://archive.is/1wFJ1

Not gonna lie i've thought about that. Kind of like how when Kotaku asked HunieDev for a code of HuniePop and said "fuck off" as their response.

personally, as a guy who has suffered... "harassment" I guess in online games, making a report function should be less on a person's words and more on their actions. I think that reporting a person for hate speech and such can be easily mitigated with a mute and gag/block. When I think of a report function I think of bugs, hacks, scripts, DDoS attempts, etc. Something worth telling the developers about. There is the keyword. Developers, developers, developers. I could give a shit less about your hurt feelings when my code is literally causing computers to melt because someone found a way to duplicate all the items in their inventory at once and spawn them on the ground and continuously doing it.

I got bullied a whole lot more for being myself when I was posting on trans forums and threads than i ever have been here, even if im bad at posting. Everyone here actually seems very nice.

Are you actually a transsexual? Just making sure I'm not being dumb and missing a joke or something.

If you are, how do you feel about the way trans people are talked about here? I don't mean the obvious trolling stuff, but the more serious discussion of the associated disordered thinking.

Do you personally find it offensive to see someone (myself for instance) say that the current trend of just accepting it and pushing kids toward transitioning is very damaging and bad? That I believe dysmorphia is never something the medical profession should "go along with" and rather they should be trying to relieve the symptoms?

I'm not asking you if you agree with my position, but whether you find someone who isn't trans expressing that position is offensive to you.

I will say my position has always been adults should be able to do whatever they want with their body, and nobody should be treated poorly just for being themselves. But, nobody gets to control my perception of them either. And the medical profession is committing malpractice right now in pushing people to transition and/or take hormones.

Yes, I am transsexual, openly for almost 11 years. I generally agree with peoples opinions on transsexuality on this website, in that I believe it is a mental illness. I'm not big on acceptance, and I think giving anyone under 16 hormones is child abuse (even then I think its best to wait for the person to reach legal age) and it permanently fucks them up.

Dysphoria is an incurable mental disorder, but instances of it are extremely rare. I think it is usually caused by early life trauma, usually sexual abuse, and if it can be treated early enough it can probably be stopped from completely developing. I tried for some years to 'cure' myself and just live as a normal man, but it did not work, and it put me in a really bad place mentally, even though i was physically much healthier. Pushing hormones on people is effectively giving them a death sentence, and it should be reserved for those who would otherwise not be able to keep living the way they are.

Everyone should be allowed to have their own opinion on the matter, and I've never tried to discourage someone who dislikes who I am from expressing how they feel. The only people who I think have invalid opinions are trenders, and they make up the vast majority of the community now, so I don't associate with other trans people very often anymore. The only thing I ask of normal people is that you don't disrespect me in public.

Isn't it sad that mature and thoughtful discussions regarding deep issues, like this one, are not the norm?

I was going to say, didn't the Tumblrinas invent the epithets "truscum" and "tucute" to describe people who insist on actual gender dysphoria before one should transition (which is sound common sense considering some of the hackjob surgery that comes to light round these parts) and FUCK YOU DAD I'M A TRANSLATINX.

@Strong Tranni Role Model:
Thank you for answering me, especially in such a straightforward way.

Now, I realize these questions are getting a little personal, so obviously feel free not to answer:
You say you tried to 'cure' yourself and live as a man, but it didn't work and put you in a bad place. Could you explain what you mean by that?
What does trying to cure yourself entail?
How didn't it work, and what do you mean by bad place? Like, deep depression, or more along the lines of psychosis? What was the part of being male that bothered you? Was it in the form of circular repetitive thoughts, basically constant anxiety attacks?

Since that didn't work, what was your next step? Did you start taking hormones, start acting like the opposite gender? When did you start feeling relief from those symptoms?

You don't want people to disrespect you in public. Obviously that's completely understandable. But I wonder what you consider disrespectful.
If someone accidentally 'misgenders' you, would you find that disrespectful?
What about someone who knew you before your transition calling you by your 'deadname'?

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to answer this stuff, and feel free to tell me to fuck off whenever. Also looking over this, the tone looks kinda accusatory, so I hope you don't interpret it that way, it's not my intention. I am genuinely curious.

Isn't it sad that mature and thoughtful discussions regarding deep issues, like this one, are not the norm?
That's why I registered here. I want to just have an honest dialogue. Nobody getting in the way and trying to find offense in everything.

I attempted to cure myself after being on the hormones for quite a few years. I did everything I could get my testosterone levels back up, and that was very successful. However, not very long after stopping the hormones, I started hearing screaming in my head, which eventually developed into hearing voices. I started becoming violent and suicidal, doing things to mutilate my body, because I hated the person I was and hated him for killing my female self. I would cry when I looked in the mirror, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't enjoy traditionally masculine things. It became too much for me and I broke down and retransitioned roughly 2 years after detransitioning. I started feeling better almost right away, eventually getting to where I am now, the best place mentally I've been in my whole life.

As for what I consider disrespect, it's mostly the very rare occasions when some literally calls me a Tranni to my fave. I don't like it when I get misgendered, but it happens rarely enough that I don't get upset about it. I don't get dead names by anyone but my parents, and I've just come to accept they make mistakes.

Sorry for all the power leveling, but I like to answer questions when people ask.

We're watching you watching us watching you fag.

Okay this is pushing it and you really needed to be more subtle.

Man Khanimus is a legendary faggot, he's definitely in the running for the biggest cuck in the whole Neogaf/Resetera BLACKED obsessed nu-male olympus and that is saying something. Even in the old GAF days you'd spot that avatar in any thread and you could automatically brace yourself for potato levels of intellectual disability. Nice to see he's still going strong, keep at it buddy.
