Oh fucking Christ. This thread is hilarious and you people don't even know why. So let me share it with you.
Girls Frontline is a strangely self-aware strategy game/waifu simulator in the same vein as Kancolle or GFO. The premise is that you take the role of a base commander for a PMC, and using a series of androids armed with a variety of different guns ranging in era from WWII to the present day, you fight against a genocidal AI that wants to exterminate all of humanity. The gameplay is very Advance Wars, but we're focusing on ResetERA here, so let's get right into it. Right out the gate, ResetERA's complete lack of understanding of the game's source material is apparent, but since you were already expecting that, let's dig into the funy.
An interesting quirk to the game is that, rather like Kantai Collection, you can actually marry one of your gun-girls if you build their affection high enough. Standard waifu game fodder. Where this becomes hilarious is that Girls Frontline is completely self-aware with this aspect, and actually makes fun of the player in about a dozen ways if they set their eyes on one of the younger-looking ones, with probably the funniest being that several characters make fun of the player's taste in women if you do.
Which flies into further absurdity when you realize that we're talking about fucking robots. Then again, this is the single-most-married gun-girl according to the game's user statistics, so it's safe to assume that unlike ResetERA, the userbase is in on the fucking joke.
Further in the thread, you can see several Resetards schlicking themselves to the fact that the game does have some censorship for its Western release. This is... Amazing. Except for the Homer/Oliver crowd, no one who actually plays the fucking game gives a shit about the censorship in it. Let me explain:
The censorship itself is confined solely to the portrait images of the girls, and doesn't apply to their in-game character sprites or event sprites. The reason the censorship is present is not due to some nonsense in the west, but rather, due to laws on the books in China portraying boobs in video games, and, given that it effects only the portrait images, many players only know which ones are because of the discrepancy between the portraits and sprites.
But it's the final part of the censorship issue that makes any whining on it funnier: A common and widely available unofficial patch from the Japanese version is available that works in all current versions of the game and removes all censorship from the character models if you actually care about that sort of thing.
Now let's drive all this home. Amidst all this talk of waifus, censored boobs in a game with no nudity, and so on, what does ResetERA have at the top of the page, over this very fucking thread?
