I really don't understand why people call Fox News propaganda or extremist. Just because they don't spin things to lean on your views means it's propaganda nor extremist; literal propaganda is far more devious than spinning a fucking story for bias' sake. WW2 is a good case study for what propaganda really looks like.
And they're hardly extremist because they report the exact same news as the rest of the media, though they're more watched and trusted than the rest, funny enough.
So I guess that's the threat he sees. People watching news he doesn't want them to see.

From what little I've seen of Fox I find them pretty fucking exceptional, but their main demographic seems to be old people and it throws softball scare stories at them about legal pot and them dang homos, but doesn't really do anything to convince people that don't already agree with them. Your average Fox viewer isn't gonna be a GamerGator, for instance, they're gonna wonder why their news is even reporting on grownups talking about "children's toys". There's certainly a confirmation bias for the people who watch it, but that's true of pretty much every channel.

For what it's worth I've seen TDS sufferers call them Trump collaborators and Trumptards REEEing about them not supporting Trump enough.

What's NeoGaf like nowadays? Most of the posts here are ResetERA so did they calm down after the big split or is it just ResetERA lite?
 
Less traffic than reee but a much better place for discussion and mods that are not crazy troons ..got a lot of ex reee coming back over as they get banned and they are surprised they didn’t click earlier about reee.

Only a matter of time I think...era seems set to implode at some point

It may be positive or negative depending on your views but NeoGAF now features JordanN sperging out about "race realism" IQ shit at any possible opportunity instead of polygon counts in video games.

Though the people who argue with him for pages are the real problem.

Leftists hate Fox News and Breitbart because that's what they're "supposed" to do. They couldn't point out what exactly makes them so bad, and could never accept criticism for MSNBC or CNN doing the same exact shit that Fox and Breitbsrt do.

I trust Fox and Breitbart more than the other major media companies because they usually aren't Toadies for the establishment.

All media sources are gonna be at least somewhat biased, and most people are gonna gravitate towards what they already agree with at least as their launching point, it's just important to be able to recognize that something that agrees with you isn't necessarily correct and to at least try to verify what you're hearing

Not to mention it just proves they refuse to critically think and forget the old adage "know your enemy".

Even if I disagree with someone, I still want to know how to competently argue against them, so I'll get to know their point of view first even if I ultimately reject every pillar it's based on.

However, it seems the particular individuals this thread focuses on are terrified of this idea.

Conservatives and libertarians have grown up being exposed to both sides of the political spectrum, we saw both Fox News and CNN, AM talk radio and NPR. We know the arguments the Democrats and Socialists and Progressives make and can argue for them.

The problem is that these same people we understand are completely unable to understand us, as they were never exposed to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, or even local talk show hosts. Probably couldn't even tell us who Dave Ramsey is! All they know is that Republicans are racist sexist homophobes and the party of old white men, funded by the evil oil industry. They were indoctrinated by Marxist teachers from kindergarten to college to hate capitalism, to hate inequality (not in an of itself a bad thing), to think you have to stamp out conflicting ideas.

We think they're wrong, they think we're evil.

Thought you meant ResetERA, I guess the ol' subconscious still remembers NeoGAF at its worst.

Still... anything is better than ResetERA, but NeoGAF is still complaining from what I've heard. Maybe not about the same shit, but they're basically GamerGhazi to ResetERA's KiA. Both being insufferable.

My point is that sides don't matter when it's hard to tell the difference in their behavior. Two kids can be squabbling for very different reasons, but to an observer it's just two kids fighting and crying for no reason.

I think NeoGAF is still leftist for the most part, though, but they aren't as woke as ResetERA is.

NeoGAF seems kinda more unmoderated and four-fifths dead than anything right now. Some of the right leaning/Trump tards are kinda celebrating on the corpse for attention after being suppressed for so long more than actually putting any kind of ideological/principled/etc. effort into it. That's dying off as nobody gives them the attention. I figure most people coming back from ResetEra are just too worn out and tired to really do anything about it for now.

I also expect the primaries to completely tear Era apart and probably stir stuff back up on GAF, the latter will probably be tested most when it's general election time since anyone in favor of Trump will be literally murdering others.

Probably left to middle.....but with bits of right wing sprinkled around

If you don’t like catching cancer you can pretty much not ever venture into the political forum and have an enjoyable experience.

The only dumpster fire area would be the off topic community thread which pretty much copies this one but the added bonus of reee members showing up to defend their site and them getting roasted for pages and pages
