Boss Nigger, from Boss Nigger. Though I suppose it's not a horror film.

Cerium - the guy running the show - never seemed like much of a Lolcow. We discovered a while ago that he has authored a few books, but that was it. I decided to look around some more since, being The Big Cheese, he's at least a person of interest to us. Here's what I got:

Cerium, real name Isamu Fukui:
2_2.jpg

Went to Stuyvesant High School in New York. I don't know these things since I'm Canadian but apparently it's a relatively famous high school. Then started a dual major in English and Political Science at NYU (this site doesn't archive properly so I attached a screenshot of the entire interview.)

From that same interview: his father is a "prominent artist" in New York, Nobu Fukui. Here's a video from one of his exhibitions.

Before starting ResetEra he became known for writing the book series called Truancy, which as far as I can tell is for punk kids fed up with school because it is about a fictional dystopian city run by a totalitarian school and students rising up against it. He's made at least $200,000.00 from those books in highschool (also doesn't archive, screencap below.) Here's a random interview about those books on Hungarian TV I found.

In addition to that, @AnOminous dug out the papers for the LLC he registered for ResetEra which lists his likely address:
Got it. It's in New York. It was fairly easy to find because the ResetEra terms of service have a governing law provision specifying New York law.

This Isamu Fukui guy has been mentioned before I believe.

He appears to be something of a prodigy, and wrote a published novel at the age of 15, receiving a lot of publicity for it. He's currently a student at NYU. All this is right in any Google search and unlikely to go away so I won't bother including a big data dump.

His first novel Truancy was published by Tor Teen but he is currently listed with Macmillan. That's about the only connection I can find with any Internet drama, and it's a really loose connection (Tor Books is the primary beneficiary of the Hugos that set off the whole Sad Puppies fiasco as they accused the Hugos of essentially just being a factory for Tor to give itself awards).

In any event, he doesn't appear to be a lolcow.

They filed a trademark on the same day. On February 8, review was completed and the trademark recognized.

The 77 E. 110th St. address appears to be a condominium complex between Madison and Park Avenue. Swanky address.

The location:

There's another entity called Meyer Media, LLC there which apparently does classical music recording and is unrelated, so it may be that it's more than residential, or it may simply be that some people there do business from their residences.

Here's the inside of Unit 7A in the same building (archive.li).

However, these are more or less just tidbits. A more interesting thing I found is that Cerium is named for homophobically insulting a gay librarian at Stuyvesant.
homophobic.png

The case was about the librarian inappropriately touching students and ultimately the court decided Christopher Asch wasn't guilty of anything. However, given what happened years later, I have my doubts about that decision.

So yeah, still not much of a Lolcow, but since he's the head of the site I thought I'd dig around a bit. Being from a well-off family, attending famous schools, and making a bunch of money from books certainly fits with the idea of Era being a cash grab, considering how quickly they started asking users for $50 subscriptions.

Dafuq?

Former high school librarian is jailed for 15 years for plotting to kidnap, rape and murder women with people he met on a twisted fetish site where members discussed bizarre sexual fantasies and necrophilia

Weird. Considering his radar was good enough to tag this creep Asch as 'problem', you'd almost expect him to be a KF type, not running 'Era.

I'm late as hell but what the fuck is animegate? Is it like #metoo but for american anime voice actors or something after vic got axed? I'm very confused. I highly doubt this will affect anything in japan, and who the hell watches dubs anyway lol. But then I saw that resetera is mad about animegate so I'm totally lost

Very informative, strange that he took the bluepill years later. Not very based, Japanese Neo.

I don't know much about it, but I think the gist of it is that some SJW types are trying their luck at making "progressive" Anime shows. Seeing how they've tried to gain influence in the video game and comic book industries, Anime fans are understandably not amused. The SJW types are pissed that Anime fans aren't all blowing sunshine up their asses, leading to them letting their bitchiness out.

I might be missing some details, but I reckon it's almost exactly like the other 'Gates.

Pretty much. It was bound to happen.

Anime is not a community for embracing "progressive". Hell, anime generally shits all over the very idea of political correctness simply by it sheer nature, its fans are largely composed of people who have had utter loathing contempt for any attempt by anyone to SJW it up, like those assholes who fucked up the dubs for Prison School to crowbar in a shitty GamerGate reference of all things, especially because the original line had NOTHING to do with it.

I might have missed it if it actually happened (I don't follow anime these days) but I was under the impression that people are preparing for it because by the way things are going it's going to happen soon.

@GethN7 already mentioned the Prison School dub which not only changed a scene to add a GamerGate reference, but a Happy Days reference as well. A scene in the dub for Dragon Maid was changed to include a line complaining about the patriarchy where non existed before.

And then there's Crunchyroll's original "anime" that can best be summed as Tumblr: The Cartoon. The trailer didn't explain the premise of the show and just showed how "diverse" the writers room is. Said room being full of similar looking white women with various hair colours. There is a thread here and a short video summing up the show here.

Various click bait articles have tried to target popular animes like Keijo!!!!! and Goblin Slayer for being "problematic".

All these things are similar to what happened with GamerGate and ComicsGate before those movements got big. All that's needed is a Zoe Post or a #MakeMineAMilkshake style inciting incident for the whole thing to go nuclear. Everyone can see this which is why the left is playing their cards carefully in the hopes of heading it off at the pass while right leaning anime fans are sharpening their metaphorical knives katanas.

They probably murdered some guy for no reason, but the real story is their mugshots being published. Stinkles really is a lunatic.
Did you read the same post I did? Stinkles was actually very reasonable in the post, excluding the first paragraph, which is pretty stupid, not gonna lie.
They acknowledge that while they are children, what they did was still evil and they should be punished as anyone else would, just to not overdo or let it slide because they're children. They even acknowledge that their families and teachers might have something to do with their behavior; a step up from the usual liberal thought on crime like this.

The entire post is still extremely sympathetic to a bunch of kids who killed a guy for no good reason. His last sentence then suggests the police are lying about what happened.

His last sentence is a bite at Trump not the police and I never said he wasn't sympathetic, just that it was more reasonable than the usual.
Notably, if you took his third and fourth paragraph and made those his post alone, then he'd look very unsympathetic. He basically said "no matter how you feel about these kids, book'em because they committed murder" and that the family of the victim is justified in feeling angry at the kids, and rightly so obviously.

Why bring up fake news if you aren't suggesting this story is fake? Trump hasn't commented on this.

Any good in that post is layered between two sheets of shit.

I don't think writing those kind of articles is even useful for them anymore since most normal people have realized those whinging shits for the vacuous, no-talent ass clowns that they are. If anything, I think they made shows like Goblin Slayer more popular by drawing attention to it. Everyone is starting to realize that if it pisses the social justice crowd off, it might actually be enjoyable.
