I imagine it is but "bad faith" is just their "get out of jail free" card, isn't it? It gets abused to hell because it makes you sound smart but I'm fairly certain "bad faith" arguments are more like....someone asking you loaded questions like “Have you stopped beating your wife?” in an irrelevant context and not them being mean to you in the general sense. Some cunt's questions are still legitimate even if he's calling you an asshole in them.

A bad faith argument is when somebody argues with you without an open mind and without the intent to hear you out.

Accusing somebody of bad faith is basically calling somebody a troll.

Resetera mods interpret this as "they heard my argument and didn't agree with me, must be bad faith".

They are brainwashed like cultists, and it is inconceivable to them that anyone could disagree with them without being some sort of Nazi and therefore, by definition not having any real arguments.

This is the same group of people who started a new forum because they didn't wait to hear the other side of the story when the owner of the old forum was accused of sexual misconduct.

Pretty much. Accusing someone of arguing in bad faith is a fantastic way of disavowing any awkward questions or stepping around arguments you're unable to respond to, without losing face. Ironically, arguing the Other Team is discussing in bad faith is an example of bad faith in and out of itself.

This shit became supper common on something awful. Mods would spastically flail around with the approach if they got talked into a corner. Disagree, then clearly you don't believe what you're saying to me!!!
