The worst part about this is that this section here is actually extraordinarily sane (as long as you read it with your tongue firmly embedded in your cheek, as it seems to have been intended). I've had people argue with me over boycotting products over shitty business practices, and the argument usually runs along this exact line. "Surely you don't want to hurt the developers! These practices might not even be their fault, and even if they are, not all of the developers are on board with them! Think of the devs' livelihoods!" It's a completely asinine argument because it ignores the inherently monolithic nature of a corporation.
The entire point of making a corporation is to have one voice, even if internally there's disagreement. That's what lets large groups of people get things done. If the collective makes a choice, I as a consumer have to react to that choice in whatever way it affects me. If I withheld my judgment because internally some of the devs don't like the company's choice and didn't support it, I'd never be able to refuse to purchase anything on any grounds other than "I don't really feel like it", and no bad business practice would ever be punished. I respect developers enough to not use the dissenters as a shield for the ones trampling on the consumers. In this, I wholeheartedly agree with ResetEra (although I doubt they've thought this through quite in this fashion).
But of course, right after this sane section, we gotta bring in "THQ totally associated itself with real CP! Aren't you gonna punish that?" Anyone with eyes to see and enough sense to check the AMA for himself can see that at worst THQ "associated itself" with loli, and only through PR reps talking in its vicinity and reacting to it. There's nothing here. There's no shitty business practice or behavior to punish. THQ didn't distribute or support or even condone CP. The only thing THQ is guilty of is a perhaps unwise PR move in hosting an AMA on 8chan in the first place, though I consider that laudable rather than shameful.
It's impressive, really, that a human being is capable of expressing a rational position immediately before ramrodding bullshit into it. As the saying goes: garbage in, garbage out.
