It's not a secret that the mod team is struggling to keep the gaming section filled up, For a time they managed by moving everything even tangentially related to games to it ;(thereby also exposing the few that genuinely want to talk about games to the insanity one the other half). Of course that effort has fallen on it's face with the trending topics and new threads menus both dominated by late-stage TDS threads and other Weimar-tier degeneracy.

Remember that even stating you're there to post about games is enough to provoke the full wrath of their moderation.

Honestly it seems like the whole forum is struggling to stay afloat in general. The only things it has going for it now is the politics related threads and any manufactured outrage that is related to video games that the people on ResetEra create to try to stay relevant.

Looking at ResetEra now, the forum on average gets around 3000 to 4000 active users which is small compared to the numbers ResetEra has when it first launched after NeoGAF imploded. In a way, the forum is struggling for the same reasons why Kraut and Tea lost his 100,000 subscriber count on his Youtube channel. The more that ResetEra keeps doing their stupid 'Gay Ops' over stupid bullshit, the more it hinders any potential growth for the forum and the more that this will ironically alienate the users as the website gains more and more infamy in the long run.

The death of ResetEra will be either be because they'll ban more and more people to the point that even the hardcore of lefties will get turned off by the forum's atmosphere where they will quietly leave and let the forum die quietly or the ResetEra mods and admins get busted in some major scandal that we don't know of yet, whichever comes first really.

Absolute power eventually implodes absolutely and history shows this countless times whether it be dictatorships or in this case a political cult like ResetEra and it's only a question of when it will collapse. When ResetEra inevitably implodes like NeoGAF before it, those losers will cry and I will laugh at them.

I think their folly is more that they don't proselytise at all, they don't meme or have any modicum of spontaneity to their forum, they just beat their members ad-nauseam. Even their ban lengths border that of ridicule with things like a (SFW) reference to an nsfw image even getting you 2 months of bantime, how is that even corrective?

Something I noticed is that they almost never hand out warnings, only bans. Warnings are a good way of showing what is not tolerated and are good for course correcting shitty behavior, but instead, they just toss you out entirely if you so much as step out of line. This doesn't exactly help membership numbers and creates an aura of fear and trepidation unless you absolutely toe the line or just keep your mouth shut. And as time has gone on, it's gotten harder and harder to avoid not being in step with those of the Inner Party.

There's also a very clear double standard with bans.

You can say you're going to cut off Trumps head with a rusty knife and shit down his throat before killing all the white men you can and get a 3 day ban that is lifted after less than a day, but saying you're going to buy a video game or disagreeing with a bullshit review will get a full "duration pending" ban.

I would say it's inconsistent, but it's not. If you're a member of a protected class or your opinions fall in line with far-left group think then you'll get a short ban or non at all.

Each wave culls the least extreme members of the community leaving only the crazies, then the next wave culls the least extreme of those until we end up in the situation a few pages back where so much as suggesting that PewDiePie is not guilty of mass murder resulted in an instant 2 month ban. I have a hard time guessing what position is more extreme than that but ResetEra will find it sooner or later.

Weren't there literal confirmed devs posting on their forums that got banned for disagreeing with the party line? I remember reading something about a Bethesda guy that got kicked off for saying that ResetEra is a toxic environment, for example. Nice gaming forum you got there, lads!
