Maybe I'm the misinformed here but what's the deal with FOX hate? God forbid I "defend" that shithole but I'm not sure where this idea that it's some ultimate source of evil comes from. I know people say "It's the largest news outlet" but from what I've read, that's only true if you're talking about TV channels Americans watch and their average viewer is at least over 60 years old. They label people like PewDiePie and everyone else they don't like as 'Nazis' and then all of a sudden the ResetEra community wants a final solution when the topic of Israel is brought up. If horseshoe theory is indeed a thing then this only proves that these speds over at ResetEra are really not that different from their far-right counterparts. The political ideas between those on the far-left and those on the far-right may be different but they both act really autistic in how they see the world as a whole.

I'm no fan of Fox but the vast, vast majority of their viewers watch them to have their opinions reinforced. Fox isn't "radicalizing" anybody, they're preaching to the choir

Objectively, I don't get it either. I don't watch FN or any cable news channel. But from what I have been able to discern from looking into them is that they certainly aren't even close to what the left paints them as. Have they twisted things slightly in the past? Yes, but absolutely nowhere near what the likes of CNN or MSNBC have done to make news fit their narrow narratives. Which just baffles me. Lefties just love to dehumanize FN and their viewers while ignoring the fact that their own news "sources" distort the news far more egregiously on a daily basis.

I'm not even going to get into "but the other side does it more!" since that'll go nowhere and biases are one hell of a drug, I'm just confused on why FOX is viewed as some omnipresent force since I'm fairly certain they're smaller than Google, Washington Post, Huffpo, CNN, etc. who have a much wider online presence and more of an impact on people who aren't already a foot into the grave. I haven't double checked the statistics on it so I'd be happy if someone could tell me if I'm being the idiot here.

Note the underlying theory, which is that fascism is so compelling that if you merely allow freedom of speech, and people espouse fascism, it will naturally be so persuasive that people will abandon liberalism and become fascists to the point that fascism will inevitably take over society.
In other words, they believe their ideas are so weak and pathetic that they can't possibly compete against literal fascism in an open marketplace of ideas.
In other words, and this is the ultimate inescapable conclusion of this line of reasoning, fascism is actually right and we have to keep people from learning that.
"Social fascism" is just as dumb a concept as "cultural Marxism." Neither concept has any real meaning outside of the coercive effects of state action.

Here's a thread on ResetEra regarding Nicolás Maduro suppressing his opposition as he tries to hang on to his power in Venezuela. Not too many responses through.
To ResetEra's credit, this is probably the only sane response I could find on this thread regarding the shitstorm Venezuela.
Is this individual for real? Dictators are not going to step down and allow freedom back into their country on the count that they don't want to lose their power just because you file a complaint towards them.
I was going to pass this up considering how there's not that many people are talking about this over at ResetEra, but one post was notable enough where I felt the need to post about it here.
I mean sure, there has never been a real life example in the entire history of humanity of socialism working out in the long run and never mind that the flaws of socialism would inevitably lead to Venezuela imploding in the aftermath. But it's somehow the fault of the United States for why Venezuela is burning to the ground while your shitty government that is desperately trying to cling on to power at this point.
