Generally speaking, I have to wonder if Hollywood actors are genuinely Democrat, or if some are playing it up. Like, some actors privately holding conservative or centrist viewpoints, but espousing liberal virtues instead to avoid getting blacklisted.

I don't know if it's the case with ResetEra but I'd wager it's definitely the case with quite a number of Hollywood types I'd bet.
One I'm almost betting because he doesn't seem to talk politics, is good with guns, and tries to keep his charity work on the downlow, ect. would probably be Keanu Reeves. I have no hard proof but it's a vibe I kinda get from him in general, and wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong either.

There's a fun site called n-gate that posts satirical digests each week of various articles (and their commentary) from Hackernews. Its author holds HN in ... very low regard, to say the least. Though there's a little bit of dissent (and they can't resist getting a swipe at Trump into the argument, because of course they can't), for the most part even the fart sniffers on HN seem to take it in stride well enough.
Resetera would do well to follow their lead and just ignore it. But they won't, because they can't.
Also, I really wish there was some n-gate equivalent for Metafilter. That place is so ripe for it, and I know for a fact they wouldn't handle it very well. Hmmm... maybe I just need to think of a good domain name and find an hour or so of free time each week...
