It's not a push on the part of the left itself, so much as it is just how the Pedos roll and why Social Justice, specifically, renders them very vulnerable to this sort of shit. I can't even really blame them for it, Social Justice has had this vulnerability since it started getting big enough, but since they steadfastly refuse to clean house, here we fucking are.
The Pedophiles have always tried to use the left as an in-roads because they sure as
fuck aren't getting in via the right, but there's more to it than that - whether you're talking about NAMBLA or "I'm not so bad, honest" groups like Todd Nickerson, they're always about piggybacking to force the envelope. They'll try to claim gay/trans rights should also be pedophile rights, or that the logical bans on loli/shota content - something done to prevent pedos from trying to use it as spankbait - are overblown, because they know that fucking
no one will accept pedophile acceptance as a mainstream platform.
So why has it been so prevalent recently, and in that sphere specifically? There's a few reasons. One is that back in more sane times, the bulk of the left would chase the pedos off with pitchforks and torches if they started to act out. For example, when NAMBLA tried to piggyback onto gay rights in the 80s, the gay community and its allies pretty resoundingly told them to go fuck a garbge disposal, and with good reason.
The issue is that the bulk of the sane left has been chased off the platforms, and what holds power there now is the progressive nutjob sphere.
Said sphere believes vehemently that someone who believes the right things - but is a terrible human being - is a better person, morally, than a filthy nonbeliever who happens to be a saint in thought and deed. Because of this they will go to insane degrees to defend pedophilia and pedophiles regardless of what they've done - you need look no further than the defense of Nyberg, Valis77, etc, for examples of that trash. Pedos see this and immediately realize that if they push the talking points, they're bulletproof until exposed.
