When NeoGAF burned, a lot of these dipshits were forced out into the open, because the shitlords regained control of the sinking ship. They immediately rehoused themselves in ResetERA and now the same patterns are starting to emerge. Correlation is not causation, as we like to say, but the ideology that allowed these speds to metastasize in the first place and the reason they were allowed to stick around remains the same. the political ideology they back believes vehemently that someone who pushes the narrative and is a fucking sexual degenerate is worth more than someone who's done no wrong and is a nonbeliever.

It's the reason so many SocJus advocates turn out to be sex pests, they've realized that pushing the narrative grants you protection until you're exposed (and even then may protect you, look at Nyberg).

It's not a push on the part of the left itself, so much as it is just how the Pedos roll and why Social Justice, specifically, renders them very vulnerable to this sort of shit. I can't even really blame them for it, Social Justice has had this vulnerability since it started getting big enough, but since they steadfastly refuse to clean house, here we fucking are.

The Pedophiles have always tried to use the left as an in-roads because they sure as fuck aren't getting in via the right, but there's more to it than that - whether you're talking about NAMBLA or "I'm not so bad, honest" groups like Todd Nickerson, they're always about piggybacking to force the envelope. They'll try to claim gay/trans rights should also be pedophile rights, or that the logical bans on loli/shota content - something done to prevent pedos from trying to use it as spankbait - are overblown, because they know that fucking no one will accept pedophile acceptance as a mainstream platform.

So why has it been so prevalent recently, and in that sphere specifically? There's a few reasons. One is that back in more sane times, the bulk of the left would chase the pedos off with pitchforks and torches if they started to act out. For example, when NAMBLA tried to piggyback onto gay rights in the 80s, the gay community and its allies pretty resoundingly told them to go fuck a garbge disposal, and with good reason.

The issue is that the bulk of the sane left has been chased off the platforms, and what holds power there now is the progressive nutjob sphere.

Said sphere believes vehemently that someone who believes the right things - but is a terrible human being - is a better person, morally, than a filthy nonbeliever who happens to be a saint in thought and deed. Because of this they will go to insane degrees to defend pedophilia and pedophiles regardless of what they've done - you need look no further than the defense of Nyberg, Valis77, etc, for examples of that trash. Pedos see this and immediately realize that if they push the talking points, they're bulletproof until exposed.

You can see these same assclowns in every community, especially hugboxy ones, but more self-aware communities who don't give two fucks about narrative will happily throw any exposed pedos down four flights of stairs the second they get exposed, any past goodwill largely notwithstanding. In Social Justice communities, however, pushing the narrative is the centerpiece, even above common sense, and many of them are already very versed in doublethink. Being in a community like ResetERA gives them cover they otherwise wouldn't have. Any other community would advocate loading them into a trebuchet and hurling them into a fire the second they got exposed as being pedos.

...I was playing Splatoon 2 earlier tonight. It's stupid bouncy fun and the sort of thing games should do more of. This brings up something tragic about its community that I've wanted to bring up about it for a while, but never really had the room for, and since this post gives a perfect reason to discuss it.

Splatoon 2 has an.... Unusual community. Like many of Nintendo's titles it's a T title and as such it has way more variety in its membership than games that are rated higher. This results in a sort of unusual balance between its members, which includes a lot of kids, Adults who enjoy the game for what it is (silly fun and memes), and so on. You see a lot of stupid nonsense that no title is immune to (there's tons of porn out there because goddamnit, Japan) but this does mean that the community has two weird (and oddly charming) quirks.

First: Splatoon is a neutral ground. SJWs wander the realm arm-in-arm with politics-get-the-fuck-out REEEE types. Miiverse is 90% shitposts and if you can splat enemies no one gives a fuck about your ideology. This means Splatoon sees the game itself as above ideology insofar as enjoyment of the game goes. I personally think the lack of voice chat has everything to do with this.

Second, because it's got a lot of kids and because Miiverse is a thing, a lot of the community keeps an eye out for creepers as a sort of squid-based neighborhood watch. Miiverse randos constantly advise users to be smart about internet safety and be aware of any shifty business. If this dude is a streamer, and he admitted to this, he's likely to be reported en masse now that that shit's out in the wild.
