lol, not killing and the consequences coming from that are huge parts of Batman's character as a whole. and iirc it's what keeps him from becoming as psycho as many of his villains. How can someone miss the point regarding something THAT basic about Batman is beyond me. :story:

how is it that only I, Joker film danger obsessive and Overwatch fan lore follower sees the completely contrived and absurd situations that allow Batman to continue fighting his villains for decades on end?

Well, he is a vigilante. He's not exactly doing his detecting following warrants and caring much about other things like control of chain of evidence and so on.

At times the comics have played around with aspects of how a lot of the evidence Batman brings the cops can't be used.

Two things, two incredibly basic and painfully obvious things:
  1. He literally already tried that and it didn't solve Gotham's problems.
  2. How very problematic to recommend that the ultra-wealthy allow some of their wealth to, shall we say, trickle down to the lower levels of society. Highly un-communist of you, Nepenthe. Are we sure you're not a closeted Reaganite? Are you now or have you ever been a filthy capitalist?

People seriously underestimate how much effort Bruce has put into fixing things in Gotham outside of the Batman stuff.

I've heard a similar spicy take that he was just a thug policeman as well, ignoring he mostly focuses on the actual serious threats and just occasionally saves somebody while they are getting mugged cause he happened to be coming through.

Right? He has an army of teenagers and knock-offs for the smaller stuff. Also in the main continuity the jokers "died" quite a few times so I don't think murdering him would do any good. Read Injustice for that.


Anyway resetera is a smelly place.

It's long been a thing in the comics where the Batfamily considers a night of stopping your everyday rapes, common murders, gang warfare, etc. as "quiet nights" outside of maybe Barbara and Dick, who both are far more on the cop side, in some cases literally. (Bruce obviously has a bit of a hang up about muggings of families.) Those scenes are often depicted as the Batfamily dropping in on it happening, the criminals running off, and them going "uh, call 911" and then taking off again to go see if Arkham Riots are happening or whatever.

Nepenthe is such a bore who gets offended by things they loudly proclaim they're not interested in, it's silly. Especially as they run around calling Blizzard genocide and fascist supporters while sporting their Overwatch avatar and masturbating to Lucio fan fiction.
