I hate that I know any of this.

I feel you, but I generally use this knowledge to peak trans people. In my experience, the vast majority of people think of trans people as just an extension of the LGBs, and haven't really thought about any of the realities of what they're claiming or the consequences of their line of thought. They see people complaining about oppression and violence and that their gender identity doesn't match their body, and that maps pretty much to their experience of the LGBs and the way they've been persecuted and their sexual identity is different, and mostly treat trans people as 'live and let live, they're not harming anyone, of course they're being oppressed because gay people were'. And of course, if someone is labeled transphobic, they just assume it's true, and that person is a bigot, the same as if they were homophobic or racist.

But if you point out the logical consequences of allowing people to assign their own gender, that usually makes especially women stop and think through what it actually means. If you point out that these are people who say you don't need dysphoria, or even to try and pass, to be trans, people start to question what it means that there are men who want free access to women's spaces without even attempting to look like they belong. If you point out that what gets referred to as a vagina is actually a de-sleeved, inside-out penis that is a gaping wound that has to be kept open to stop it from healing up, people start to think differently about men becoming women, because contrary to what trans people say, normal folks don't spend all their waking hours thinking about troon genitals, they just sort of assume plastic surgery can perform wonders.

I sperg a bit about troonery IRL, if I'm not careful. But that's because I've found so much of the support they get from well-meaning people is based on blind acceptance, emphasis on blind. Once you start showing them the consequences of the actions of just accepting troons for what they say they are and the reality they are trying to rewrite, they'll find that, say, being called a TERF or a transphobe doesn't automatically make someone a bad person. It can just as likely mean they're someone who wants to stop predators from having easy access to women of all ages, or someone who disagrees that trans women have no biological advantage over other women in sport.

Or even just someone who thinks that you can be allowed to disagree with someone who claims to be trans on a forum without it instantly being based on their fucked-up gender identity, rather than them saying something fucked-up. Because another consequence of hitting peak trans, I've found, is that people start to look at every identity that's used as a shield from criticism and thinking about whether that person is being disagreed with because of what they are, or because they're wrong and/or an asshole.

MBTI is just an expanded version of the old "Four Humors" style of personality categorization. There is actual "are you this? If not, then you are this" logic gates to it that will either validate or falsify its inherent premise. You can't do that for any of these 90 genders, because they're almost entirely subjective and self-determined. Others around you can identify you as ITJFwhatever, but only you REALLY know if you're a demiboy or a transmale. And maybe you'll decide you're something else when somebody invents the term. There's nothing falsifiable about it.

This whole identity politics and cultural-atomization actually is actually better understood when compared to the crisis of religion in the 4th century Roman Empire. It's a bit of a tl;dr, but basically old school Roman paganism was not just a copypasta of Greek Gods and myth but also had unique elements that were strongly animistic and provided both a definition of "Rome" as a political body (there were no nation states back then, even the notion of "Empire" was a novelty introduced to Europe by Alexander the Great) as well as what the duties were for each Roman citizen to their household and the state. Basically, Roman religion believed your house had spirits in it (located primarily in the fireplace known as a hearth), and if you appeased those spirits by keeping your house in good order and making sacrifices then your house would not fall into disorder and your family into poverty, disease, hardship, and scandal. Rome as a city was a "household", and it too had a "hearth". The Sacred Fires of the Vestal Virgins, who kept the fire lit (as if they were the young daughters of Rome itself) and thus kept the city from destruction. All that changed bigtime when Rome became an Empire, when the Emperor's divine cult started to take precedence as "what keeps Rome from destruction", and then again when the capital was moved to Constantinople. Suddenly, Rome the city was no longer a "household", but instead a nation state. Who or what was to keep it afloat? The Emperor? Obviously he was just the head of a cult of personality. So they turned to various mystery cult religions to find meaning, identity, stability, and control over the world. The cult of Mithra, or Dionysus, or the cult of Isis. And yes, Christianity. A Roman Emperor ended up converting to Christianity because he himself was no longer secure in the beliefs that had once allowed many a family in Rome to sleep soundly at night, believing their home was protected and the divine world properly appeased. There are many other issues that led to Christianization, but the key one was the old paganism was long since undermined and rotting; and Romans at the time were hungry for a new sense of meaning and stability in the world.

Remove Christianity - which was founded on the belief that salvation was universal; open to all genders, races, creeds, classes, and even to repentant sinners; and imparted upon secular government similar beliefs regarding universal rights and legal privileges - and what do you get in its place? A new religion offering a new truth to view the world through - that you can change your sex and obligiations in society just by saying "I IDENTIFY AS [random noises] AND MY PRONOUNS ARE [monkey sounds]" and that is now magically truth. Each man/woman/demiboy becomes their own personal god in their ability to create, destroy, and pass judgement. There is no salvation for the sinner or the repentant, people are either good or they are not. And sometimes they are good, until they are not. The world is on fire because of patriarchal imperialism, and the guilty must be removed and replaced with the innocent.If one is pure of heart, they shall be allowed to survive to see the new queer space communist utopia. (don't mention all the billions that have to be forcibly sterilized to get there, though)

Big wall of text, but it seriously needs to be looked from this kind of historical vantage point. This is all just a symptom of a culture that has failed to impart its own values and beliefs onto younger generations, and instead allowed a school system that never faces any consequences for its utter failure to prepare children for employment or adulthood to do all the parenting. You never saw this in past homonormative cultures. Romans and Greeks were very lurid and diverse in their sexual habits, but never engaged in the kind of insanity that ERA and their "allies" do on a regular basis. No matter who you were screwing in secret, you still had a wife and kids to come home to and to provide for. The current generation has replaced family with pets, and civic duty with social activism. A healthy society is comfortable in its own values, a sick society is hungry for their overthrow. For this generation, it's really all about control. Everyone wants to be God now, with a big old banhammer and a platform to preach from on high.

GAF is fine now and its fate is undecided. It could completely recover, fade into obscurity or get fucked over by the elf again. It seems he has learned from his mistakes but who knows what would happen if it suddenly gets a large influx of new toxic members. Moderation is great rn and a lot goes.

It's certainly not as active as it once was, but it actually feels like a video game forum. Unlike ResetERA where it uses the skin of one to hide their bitching of "problematic elements" to outsiders, topics on GAF talk about the gameplay/stories of the games or discuss newly announced games.
