At school we were given pocket bibles by Christian groups a few times. But while in principle I disagree with any kind of political activity aimed at captive minors, I can pretty much guarantee it had no effect on us one way or the other. Kids from religious families remained religious and vice-versa. Plus it's was nice to get a free book.

This happened to me twice, only it was priests and they waited just outside all the school gates to get everyone. Even the ones leaving by car. My mom wasn't happy due to separation of church and state since this was a public school, even though technically they weren't on official school grounds.

That's how it was at my school, waiting just off campus. They were generally polite and didn't really proselytize (outside of handing out the Bibles, anyway). I somehow doubt the success rate on it was terribly high, but whatever.

I dunno. I can understand getting a little weirded out by some stranger giving your child a present without your knowledge; maybe a little helicopter parent-y to freak out about it, but I'd at least be like, "hmm, that's a little strange". The poster's freak-out about the Bible specifically, and everyone else in there's laser focus on that one detail is far stranger, though.

Imagine living in a world where giving a bible to a kid is almost seen as a crime... while, according to Resetera, it's perfectly ok to speak to 5 years old about how it's fine to cut your dick and wear wigs.

Regardless of what you believe in, the Bible is one of the most important book in human history and has important teachings that shaped the world we live in. It's a great piece of history and you can find many piece of wisdom in there (live by the sword, die by the word etc).

There are far worse books you could give to a kid. What are they afraid of ? That the kid is going to take Jesus as a role model and not Bruce Jenner or Rey from Star Wars ? That he'll want to go to a church and prey for the forgiveness of his sins instead of playing Fortnite and watching Marvel movies ?

Yeah, I'm aware of the ladyboys. It doesn't change that Thailand has far stricter gender roles than the modern West, as does most of East Asia. They also don't have the same politics surrounding transgenderism that we do given they literally call the trans-girls ladyboys and no one really complains about it.

Most people don't know this but in Thailand you literally need a confirmed diagnosis of gender dysphoria to undergo gender reassignment by law, so tranny friendly Thailand is RUN BY GODDAMN TRUSCUM. Thais definitely wouldn't buy the idea that sex is a spectrum the way modern trans activists claim it is.
