Oda started his career as Watsuki’s assistant, iirc he's the one who came up with the concept of Kamatari from the Juppongatana. AND Rurouni Kenshin as a whole is experiencing a revival with the new live-action movies that will based on their most famous manga arc, the same one that fans begged for YEARS to be animated or made into movies. So WHY exactly are people shocked that this is going on?

In any case I don’t think Oda came up with the idea of the interview with Watsuki AND I also don’t think he can JUST refuse doing it because of MUH MORALS since manga industry can be terrible even for seasoned mangaka. (Just ask Yuu Watase, Tite Kubo, Makoto Raiku, Mayu Shinjo, Gosho Aoyama and other manga artists who have been screwed over to one or another degree by it). Oda himself pretty much LIVES to churn out One Piece chapters once a week and iirc he works so hard on it that he tends to get sick of overwork at least once a year, so can you imagine what would happen if he refused to interview the guy that helped him get into the manga industry (even when he, well, fucked up BAD with the pedo bullshit he pulled) and how he'd be treated by Shueisha over it? He'd probably be fucked big time.

So yeah, LOL Resetera. If ResetEra had any sense, they would realize that communist societies were far worse off than capitalist ones.

Since ResetEra clearly loves communism so much, allow me to give them some real history.

Many of the communist societies then were very socially conservative in many regards. Sure former communist states such as the Soviet Union did a lot of things that can be considered progressive in the modern sense (such as the Soviet Union being the first country to decriminalize homosexuality) but that didn't meant that the Soviet Union was a paradise on Earth. For starters, Joseph Stalin enacted many things that these morons on the left would start to decry as 'fascist' and 'an oppressor of the patriarchy' such as how Joseph Stalin heavily enforced gender roles for what he believed to be would create a more healthy communist state. The men in the Soviet Union were expected to do 'men' jobs (being a breadwinner) and the women were also expected to raise 'good' communist children for the future of the Soviet state.

While on paper both men and women were see as 'equal' under the Soviet doctrine, in principle life for both men and women under Soviet rule was in a lot of ways very male dominated. And aside from things such as construction, the military, and eventually the space race (women were at least able to be a construction worker, a solider, and later on a cosmonaut); many women did back breaking labor on farms and the only ones lucky enough to enjoy the life of luxury were already part of the elite to begin with (whether they were a politician, a scientist, a bureaucrat, KGB, military, etc).

And to further my point, it wasn't that uncommon for crimes against women to be covered up and not be reported, especially under Joseph Stalin and it's because a lot of women that were sent to these gulags were also horribly mistreated and the guards would at times take advantage of these women that were imprisoned and they proceed to rape them too.

So while capitalism isn't perfect, I'd choose capitalism over communism any day of the week because the latter has an even bigger track record of a lot of human rights abuses that sadly went unpunished.

So life under communism would be Hell for ResetEra if they even bother to learn to read a real history book and not buy into whatever Twitter spouts on a daily basis and think they're smart now because a blue checkmark said so.
