I maintain that 90% - 95% of the userbase is trolls, sure there are the TRUE AND HONEST members like the mods and Excess Bedsheet but I honestly think the vast vast majority of the other uses are there to stir the pot and laugh at people.

Some of those people were comically pretentious though. I recall one early 2000s MA troll reviewer wrote an enormous essay on how Master of Puppets somehow "killed" heavy metal, and for that reason he was giving it 0% even though his actual assessment of it was more like 60%. The site's terrible now but I wouldn't want those people who treat metal like a literal religion back either. Ideally it would be something like That Metal Thread on this site.
