My understanding of the term in general is that you're "arguing in bad faith" when you're not actually trying to "win" the argument by persuasion or reason but rather just arguing to annoy or piss off your opponent or otherwise cause him grief.

It's a bit like "playing devil's advocate" except instead of arguing for the opposing position (i.e. the devil's) to help the other side strengthen and hone their arguments (at their invitation) by realizing its weaknesses, you're arguing just to be an asshole and you don't really believe what you're saying or hold the opinions you're representing.

I've only ever heard SJW's use the term "bad faith actors" and so the only way I can explain it is from how they use it in context -- it's anybody they believe is using their ridiculous ideas and reasoning to play a caricature that exaggerates the worst of it and then dives into a situation to make SJW's look bad or sabotage an SJW effort. The "real world" interpretation is that a "bad faith actor" amounts to a Poe in their midst. Like a white protester who goes to "support" a BLM riot and starts openly calling for mobs to start beating up fellow white protesters (with the sole purpose of getting legitimate supporters beaten up by their own pets).

On REEEsetera? A "bad faith actor" is really just anyone who screencaps and mocks them for the dumb shit they say and do, on-site or off (mostly off, since practically everything will get you banned on-site). And "arguing in bad faith" just means "disagreeing with someone who has access to the 'ban' button."

Yahtzee tries to toe the line by being generally PC most of the time, but you can find clips here and there of him lamenting the SJW/victim culture in random let's play videos of his. He seems like a decent guy who's just trying his best not to lose his gravy train, which I can respect. Even if the vast majority of his fans would roll their eyes at anything Resetera said, there's no guarantee the websites he works for wouldn't drop him to score points.

This is a good point. Yahtzee basically gives them 90% of their traffic. At this point I'm sure he'd be okay if he had to go it alone, but why not ride that train as long as you can, since he apparently makes a small fortune right now.
