TransEra, the troons on ResetEra, believe Cyberpunk is transphobic. Everyone else with a brain thinks that's mostly stupid and just wants to talk about the game. Black Chamber was given the job of making the thread for Cyberpunk on the release date for the game and TransEra wanted the thread's opening post to be devoted to how transphobic the game is rather than the game itself. Black Chamber responded to this request by not revealing what his plan was for the thread until like 12 hours later, during which time the troons began acting like apes because they thought their demands would not be met. Eventually, he revealed that he was going to have a part in the game's thread about the transphobia controversy. Him taking so long to reveal this information led to the forum exploding and accusations of him and the adminship hating troons.

That's basically it, right? Someone who knows more can correct me if I fucked anything up.

It's kind of weird having read through all of this backwards, starting with the deeply angry and indignant posts......and then you get to the start of it, and it turns out this massive and shameful and disrespectful post from Black Chamber was just a guy politely saying "Everyone's welcome in our thread, to discuss any and all aspects of the game."

I can't believe so many people are flipping out over an OT post, which is inevitably just a bunch of bandwidth-choking images that everyone immediately skips. Whether there's a "controversy disclaimer" in there or not, nobody is going to fucking read it. The resident gender activists' idea that they can strike out against this game by watering down the OT is ridiculous.

The discussion in the OT will still largely be focused on the game and not their made up issues. Normal users will still have the troon and troon defense force on ignore. Barely anything will change at all. Focusing on banning one user and not just banning Cyberpunk discussion in general is actually detrimental to their overall cause.
