NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

Keep' em keeping REEEtards this is a great idea to further promote GAF

They only tried to throw trannies a bone because they were staying true to the setting. Hopefully they continue to keep it real by making games that appeal to Gamers and not woketards.
I'm just looking forward to the inevitable mods that will come out removing the troon content. Lots of REEEEEEEEing about troon erasure by the same assholes who also say it's all the wrong sort of troon representation.

How many times do these LARPing ResetEra fuckwits, many of which aren't even trans, have to prove that there's no such thing as a win state before people stop even trying? Each time, at least, this one more than many, the fact that they'll never be happy and their claims of transphobia are baseless chips away at the people who would otherwise support them.

Anyone who went to Era in the first place is a tard, and they only really care when they get personally affected. But the self-righteous fury of this handful of wokescolds never seems to realise that, not only is 'peak transing' people a thing, but that it actively damages any support they have received as people wake up to their utter lunacy.

The ultimate irony is that EviLore thinks he’s important again and starts banning the wrongthinkers in pursuit of gaming industry clout. He will absolutely do it if given the chance.

This whole shit about banning for "off-site inflammatory commentary" might have been the most hamfisted move ever pulled by forum jannies ever. They have now given their own mentally broken users an incentive to dig up information on the people they dislike in order to get them banned, and they have obligated themselves into that position. The loony troons are officially above any of the rules of the site. It's a living demonstration of how awful of an idea basing any organization on the ideals of intersectionality truly is.

It was meant to happen and it's all about money and brand.

Neogaf brand was based around strict moderation and mass banning. It was one of the most heavily moderated place of internet circa 2016, which even became a meme at some point.

Resetera stole everything from Neogaf, not just the community. Resetera needs to keep a certain number of bans to keep that brand alive. If they want to keep the most active members engaged and trusty of the brand, they need bans. Those most active members are the one who brings money to Resetera. They're the one who disable their adblockers, who subscribe to "Era clear" and who even donate good money to keep their safe place well-fed. The staff is just pandering to the people who brings the money, according to the manager guidelines.

Problem is, you only have a defined number of members and the community isn't growing. How do you keep the banning brand alive when you've already banned the most obvious wrong-thinkers and trolls ? New rules, news minority meetings, promise of more moderation sanctions, new wrong-think, new forbidden subjects... without any changes at the end of the process. It's a never ending story to keep the brand alive and the members themselves are oblivious that they're being played by the management.

They always act surprised when the staff don't keep their promises during their infamous meetings. They don't keep their promises by design. It's a game of inventing the new banning fad to have an excuse to keep that brand alive. At the end, it's just business and money.

Banning for off site content has been around for about 15 years back when it was just called GAF. The mods would comb carefully through Opa Age and Evilbore for shit to nail people with when they wanted to find a reason.

I agree that bans are just part of the culture of that place. They love it because it helps to rationalize that they are part of some elite group even though everyone else considers them a laughingstock. The more they get made fun of, the more validation they feel.
