Why do these losers spend so much time watching content they hate? I enjoy lolcow content on this site, though I might hate some of the people involved in creating it (Vaush and Dax Herrera come to mind, who are truly loathsome perverts despite being quite entertaining to laugh at).

Honestly these people are overthinking it. If I had to guess, Favreau is likely good enough friends with Robert Downey Jr that he knows about the relationship RDJ has with Mel Gibson.
When RDJ was essentially unemployable because of the drugs and the alcohol, Mel Gibson went out of his way to help him out and get him work. And years later when Mel Gibson being Mel Gibson got him in trouble RDJ actually said on an award show that people should give Mel a chance because he would help any of them out if they were down on their luck.
It's really shocking how much the media has changed, nowadays they would call RDJ a secret nazi.

RLM constantly jokes about things and having a sense of humor in Current Year+6 is haram. I also remember them joking about about "Passive Progressives" in a review (or in one of the Nerd Crew episodes) calling out corporations like Disney who virtue signal as much as they can but only include the bare minimum of, for example, LGBT people in their movies so they can be easily removed for Chinese releases. That one might have hit Era too close to home.
