NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

I'm a little surprised that the jannies took that angle, tbh. After all, once a symbol has been perceived as being used by "bad" people (RIP pepe,👌 and 💯) it's a hate crime forever to use them according to era, so...

Jewish summit when?
I guess the ree jannies reacted like that because it's a "minority" religion symbol, pretty sure if that was a Christian symbol stolen by the nazis they would react very differently.

You're looking at this from the wrong angle. It's not about symbols becoming tainted once they'e used by a "bad" group, as part of applying some kind of consistent set of standards or mores, it's about which argument is being put forth by the person highest on the progressive stack.

It's just that simple.

There's also a lack of personal investment, we don't really have much emotional investement so it's hard to get upset when you encounter somone you know you'd hate irl.

Someone call the fucking international based department, we found their guy

Eternal respect for these brave brothers 🙏

Finally more *VIDYA*

Progressive white leftist: white people should sit down and listen to minority voices.

Indian/Japanese: The nazi symbol came from our culture and represents more than Nazism and we have the right to how we use that symbol.

Progressive white leftist: shut the fuck up nigger. Nazi symbol bad.
That's the crazy thing, It's not from the Indians and the Japanese. We don't know where it's from because it's from seemingly everywhere. The Meso Americans used it, the Hopi used it. The tri-spiral that the celts used is a variation on the swastika. It's one of those things that's older than writing and probably older than metalworking and before the third reich, it was considered to be completely benign.

I saw a Watch fob engraved with swirling winds over a field of grain, all emanating from the swastika. Who made this goddamn thing? Why the Boy Scouts of America did, to commemorate their 1921 Jamboree; an event that occurred while Hitler was still just some guy who had been an Austrian Corporal in the German Army, Before he took power, it was a completely benign symbol loaded with nearly universally positive connotations. Hitler adopted it because it's heavily wound up in ancient germanic iconography and found among grave-goods -everywhere- in Europe. If they were to make a movie about the fall of the WRE? They'd leave out one detail: Swastikas fucking everywhere.

It's just a popular symbol that has become stigmatised in some places. The Basque cross vaguely resembles one too, though it's curvy.

Its almost like, throughout the year, a certain constellation appears to circle around the Pole star, where if you took 4 photos 3 months apart and combined them, it would look like something very familiar. Crazy old thing, life.

Yup, like so.

Super important for early navigation in the Northern hemisphere.

Whatever the origins watching the ree lot getting up in arms over it and get smacked down for hating on the pocs is the purest form of entertainment.

Both sides suck I thought was the message of Skyrim. Just skip their missions until they're forced into a meeting with each other (unless your rp-ing I guess).

Why do some people have to filter their political views through pop culture and vidya? Just have an opinion on something without mentioning a Disney property pretty please

Neogaf has lost some of it's more prominent members, seems like evilore tried to pivot the forum into the left after the election and a lot of people are leaving.

If you go to https://www.neogaf.com/bans/ there's tons of "account closures" and "requested" from people with thousands of messages that have been on the forum for years.

Time for another episode of that Smithers gif

They should have called her Cryiet because retards will never get over it.

The fact that it's the girl in a bikini rather than the rape and murder by vagina bomb that they endlessly moan about is hilarious

Any kind of post that can misconstrued as an attack against the glorious motherland must be met with strict punishment.

Watch them turn out to be right and still stay banned (again)

I'm loving this wave of "Duration pending: May be extended after review" bans.

Taken at their word, there is no duration decided to be extended.
Filtered through Era newspeak, "Duration pending" used to mean "Permanent", so they are extending infinity to infinity plus more.

Peak Reeee autism.
Drumph made me love foreign intervention and imperialism... in Skyrim.

It was supposed to be morally complex, trying to project idealized neo liberal depictions of urbanized societies onto the empire is fucking dumb.
The fun part is they're effectively supporting a simular setup to lthe american system they rage against but worse.
