GOT wasn't my thing and I didn't watch it but I agree. Shows can just run off the rails to the point where it's not worth it.

Honestly, I've seen *way* worse. Not 300 pounds, no dangerhair, no changing name, not dressed like an eight-year-old's fairy-princess fantasy, no changing name to Terra Riversong or something. Doesn't pass, of course, but at least there's some effort made to look like a woman. Not a hulking wendigo or Ballerina Ken Davitian.

Tolkien never really said what was in Far Harad so it can just be made up on the fly. There are giant elephants and troll-men, but that's about all that is mentioned since the heroes never go there.
