being generally woke (being offput by tumblr poly enbies but buying the phrase "trans women are women") i peak trans'd this week not by dutifully studying KF's materialist arguments but accidentally, by going down a rabbit hole studying Dissociative Identity Disorder tiktok teens and youtubers like DissociaDID. the influence of cannabis helped the right neurons touch, for me to see it's exactly as much of a clout chasing scam and unfalsifiable pick me attention whoring phenomenon as the social contagion that is queer theory. then being linked to Chloe Wilkinson's thread was how i ended up here. honestly, if my resetera ban had been within the last 12 months i think i might have had enough retained social conditioning to not click a URL with kiwifarms in it, which is depressing. they really do a great job of convincing you that the "hate" here is just so irrational that you should pay it no mind, and not literally that if you see the name KiwiFarms enough, curiosity will get the better of you, you'll come here and then be convinced that the troonosphere is full of shit in very short order. i actually think it's fascinating and it would be interesting to see if shedding light on the DID trend that's in these same autistic circles can get past more people's "trans women are women" firewalls. watching some Arty Morty videos just hardened the fresh cement in my brain, particularly the ones comparing queer theory to scientology and the subject of giving gender nonconforming kids puberty blockers. if i was to put money on it, them going after impressionable kids that would've ended up gay without intervention is going to be what kills the trans movement. i've had zero interest in breadtube for a couple years since i realized Nyk and Philosophy Tube et al knew less about marxism than your average SA poster, but in hindsight I'm relieved that even as an Hbomberguy viewer I never gave Mermaids a penny.
