NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

Criminal Girls is specifically baffling to me because the game was heavily censored, removing all the BDSM and discipline elements from the game. It's a fanservice game, without the fanservice, but that's still too much fanservice.
Some of the halfsinners are still very young, though, or at least of very young appearance.

Here is the updated unofficial list of games and other things you're not allowed to talk about on ResetEra.
  • 8chan
  • A Hat in Time
    • Featured a JonTron cameo they refused to remove.
  • Boogie
  • CDProject Red
  • Chik-fil-A
  • Chris Pratt
  • Cinemassacre (James Rofle and Mike Matei)
    • Mike had an old comic with a Mexican and aids.
  • Colin Moriarty
  • David Jaffe
    • He once Tweeted support for gamergate
  • Dealer Gaming
  • The Dorito Pope (aka. Geoff Keighley)
  • Dr. DisRespect
  • Girlfriend Reviews
  • Good Old Games
    • Tweeted a gif from Postal 2 of the Postal Dude pissing on the grave of games journalism
  • Hideo Kojima
  • Ion Fury
  • Joe Rogon
  • JonTron
  • Katusra Hashino (and Atlus)
  • Kiwi Farms
  • Koichi Sugiyama (The composer for Dragon Quest)
  • NeoGaf
  • Ninja (the Twitch streamer)
  • PewDiePie
  • Play Asia
    • For releasing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, and promoting it with a Tweet about cancel culture and censorship.
  • Red Letter Media and Rich Evans specifically
    • They criticised The Last Jedi, Ghostbusters: Answer The Call, Captain Marvel, and other woke movies.
    • Rich Evans for this joke. They claim he said pro-Trump things, but I don't know what.
  • Serah Silverman
  • Sophia Narwitz (aka. sophnar0747)

  • The Washington Examiner

Pending
  • Digimon Tamers, and the lead writer Konaka
    • A joke from a script read at a Digimon anniversary convention, the bad guy uses a "cancel culture" attack. ResetEra is attempting to cancel him to prove cancel culture doesn't exist.
  • Gone Home and Fullbright Studios
What do they have against girlfriend reviews? it's like the most non offensive thing there is.

A topic for Amir0x and pedoEra.

But also for Resetera a surprisingly based topic from the locals. Able to have the nuance to simultaneously say child porn bad but total infringement on privacy by Apple also bad.

So genuinely not really any lolcow screencaps. Occasionally this happens on Resetera and the jannies stay away. In this instance I would still say Hecht's mobile probably needs checked.
Well I'm going to be honest here, as much as I really disagree with ResetEra on a lot of things, this is one of the rare cases where I think I'm going to agree with them now and let me explain.

So we've seen this nonsense before where after Tumblr got kicked out from the Apple App Store where a bunch of criminals were using it to distribute cheese pizza, Tumblr decided to get rid of NSFW content in general by setting up an algorithm that is meant to scan and remove unwanted content from their platform and this lead to tons of false positives and people that did nothing wrong getting banned from Tumblr and thus resulted in Tumblr imploding and people moving on to other platforms later on.

This to me screams that the feds and other governments from around the world probably pressured Apple in them becoming a honeypot so that these government authorities can very easily abuse in the long run so that they can start to crack down on any political decent and to also heavily monitor people that can serve as a threat to their power anyway.

So while these Big Tech companies can argue that they're "protecting the children" (and I put that in quotes in a sarcastic manner), something tells me that the 'Glow in the Dark' people are jealous of China in regards to how China monitors their own people in the name of "safety and security" and are doing what they can to also disregard the saying that '1984 was not suppose to be an instruction manual' then.

Well I think the other problem is that "big tech" has proved when they let shitty AI decide things, they make a lot of fucking problems. It's not that big of an issue when youtube's AI flags some video and someone loses some monetization because it fucked up. If Apple starts reporting Grandma and Grandpa to the authorities because it decided that the picture on their computer of beach day with the grandkids is cheese pizza and actually starts ruining peoples lives, that's another issue.

It's an autist Eeyore who has figured out the lowest effort way to get attention and repeats it ad nausea. It's what autists do.

Its a hilarious situation because anywhere else would shut the poster up but they can't because muh ableism.

Oooft, that austistic tard had nothing else other than Resetera.

Imagine pushing KSweeley to soo much tard rage he literally rage quits. I thought this was a progressive forum? Isamu Fukui's hate machine rumbles on.

Actually feel a bit bad for the guy, hey K, the farms has your back. Fuck Resetera!

There is a storm brewing with the commies again, the jannies out for red blood. Isamu's far-right neo-Nazi forum really is taking it to another level.

The Era Socialism discord was a treat. Pretty much full of AZN Identity Incels and black guys with severe mental problems hate posting about any and everything.

typical response from forums like Reeeesetera and TV Tropes alike, I'm not surprised to see they share the same sentiment of "I'll say I've been a longtime fan and claim this RUINS the entire series for me!!!" while also claiming that this shows that "alt-right" beliefs are spreading everywhere.

I guarantee you if it were the opposite and Konaka had put some weak left talking points (rather than weak right), they would be eating it up, or at least not sperg over it as much.

You forgot to mention Harry Potter.
Good catch. Added, and moved RLM to it's own section.

@LordBaron joked, but he's fairly close.

Iirc, there were bans at the time for men talking about "sexism" by saying "My gf played X and she was fine with it.". So they were not happy with a games review show where that was the premise. When they released a AMA about how the boyfriend wrote the script, and the girlfriend read them, they didn't like that.

Then she said something fairly milquetoast on the show making fun of SJWs and Anita Sarkeesian, and that seemed to be the last straw for them.

I guarantee you if it were the opposite and Konaka had put some weak left talking points (rather than weak right), they would be eating it up, or at least not sperg over it as much.
"All media is political! Big corporations can do what they want, that's just free speech!"

It's a digital pastiche of the old "family takes family photos, including a couple with their toddlers in the bathtub, then drops off the rolls of film at the store to have them developed and printed, and the technician calls the police because he can see a 4-year-old nipple in one of the photos" routine.

I guarantee "beach day" and "pool party" photos are going to trigger the fuck out of this thing since bathing suits show lots of skin and people of all ages wear them, and the occasional "artistic nude" will sometimes involve a woman who looks younger than she is. And god help the families of teenage girls who still do the sleepover thing and shoot videos of themselves being goofy. There's no way these AI's are smart enough to deal with all this properly.

This is why 1) you should never use any Apple product, 2) you should never store your media "in the cloud" on a system you don't completely control, 3) for anything important, valuable or considered "private," you should use a proper DSLR camera for photography and a proper video camera for videography so the damned things don't go online and let random companies snoop through your stuff.

If Apple does this the other vendors will catch up soon. Refusing to use the cloud is no solution since the proposed scanning takes place on the device.

Apple have been running this on iCloud already for a while, just like MS on OneDrive and google is doing it on their own service as well.

That's why it's best to use dedicated photo- and video-taking devices (DSLR's, camcorders, etc.) and eschew phone cameras entirely. That's true generally speaking, but now it's essential if you're shooting family photos or vids or (god forbid) something naughty with your spouse if they have anything approaching youthful looks.

In my opinion, the problem here is the same problem you get if you send in your computer to get looked at by the Geek Squad... you are paying people to perform a warrantless search of your property on behalf of law enforcement. The sheer fucking indignity of it! The audacity of it, that we would thank people for surveilling us!
What a bunch of coon-ass house nigger Uncle Toms.

People are misunderstanding what Apple is doing.
Basically the glowies have a big pile of known child porn database and this system checks the hashes of photos to see if they match the known database. If a hash matches, a human reviews it and if it is child porn they report it to law enforcement. This isn’t an AI scanning your photos and mistaking your dick pic for a baby penis. iCloud, Dropbox, Google, etc. already do this when you upload and it’s why you see reports of people being busted for Dropbox stuff.
What Apple is doing is still pretty scummy, even if you don’t upload to the Cloud, they’re going to scan your photos and report. Fuck pedos, but it’s a slippery slope for a company to unilaterally say they’re going to search your device and report you to law enforcement.

Shout out to Kiwifarms. Inmates are coming close to self-awareness in that topic how hated they are.
