It is been so long since I stopped by NeoGaf and I was welcomed by a side banner of "buy our merch please!". I would buy some Kiwi Merch (if the overseas shipping would be more reasonable) since it has way more effort behind it, but NeoGAF is mostly "take some pop culture reference and slap the forum name on it":

This is how they operate, they'll try to kill any new up and coming thing because it's "problematic" but once it reaches a certain level of status they'll claim they love it and were never against it
You'll see it all the time with stuff like say, Berserk, they'll happily pretend it's one of their favourites because it's so influential and respected, then lose their minds over a new anime/game that's 99% a carbon copy of it
That's why they'll claim to love Nier: Automata and Drakengard but rage about Project EVE even though it's clearly influenced by Automata
because they dont actually stand for anything, they just follow power and influence. If Project EVE becomes a huge success they'll claim it's a huge victory for female lead characters and it owns the chuds
