You scored better than half in Dork, earning you the title of: Pure Dork. Like our friends Napoleon Dynamite & co.

It's not as though you were some whiz-kid in school. Oh, sure, you probably did okay in some classes, but were probably awful in others. Certainly most people thought you were smarter than you thought yourself to be. And it's not that you have some overriding passion, like computers or Star Trek that sets you apart for the crowd, though you likely share some interest in some of those sorts of things. You just like to be yourself, and want to express yourself for who you are.

And, really, there's nothing wrong with that. Being who you are often invites scorn, and so it's a difficult thing in a world that rewards conformity. Be proud of your dorkiness, for often it's just another word for individuality. (I'd vote for you!)

Congratulations!

No suprise there, just look at my name.

It's not that you're a school junkie, like the nerd, and you don't really stand out in a crowd, like the dork, you just have some interests that aren't quite mainstream. Perhaps it's anime, perhaps it's computers, perhaps it's bottlecaps, perhaps it's all of those and more. Your interests take you to events and gatherings that are filled with people you find unusual and beyond-the-pale, but you don't quite consider yourself "of that crowd." Instead, you consider yourself to be fairly normal. Which, you are.

I wish I were super good in Science and Math so I good be full nerd! I'M WORKIN ON IT.

I was Tri-Lamb a couple years ago. I wonder what changed. Apparently, I'm a more functional human, but I don't feel much different.

Took the test but it wanted me to sign up to get results. Nope.

Anyway, who creates these distinctions? I remember my brother used to say he was a proud geek and not a nerd or a dork, and I just have to wonder, under whose authority do those words mean what the people who identify as nerds/geeks/dorks think they mean? For years I'd always heard them used interchangeably, and all of a sudden when the subcultures arise people start saying they're one and definitely not the others.

You don't have to sign up with OkCupid to get the results. As Null mentioned earlier in the thread below where it asks you to sign up, there is a tiny "Just Give Me the Results" that you can click on to just get the results. I suppose I should have clarified this in my original post.

As for who creates the distinctions, I believe this test just relies on dictionary definitions.
