Frontalot and Lars are the two I mostly listened to, back in... good lord, has it been that long? I have no idea if they're still around making things, part of me hopes so, just because it seemed like they were pretty passionate about it and had fun writing and performing.
A few of the Frontalot tracks I can still remember (somehow):

A MC Chris track and a documentary on him.

Nerdcore is interesting since there is like two distinct groups of musicians in it where one is from the mid to late 2000s and make songs about Gen X media for the most part while the other emerged in the 2010s and sing about popular video games, anime and movies and usually do their best to appeal to a wide audience. Otacore also splintered off of the latter which mainly focuses on anime.

I guess overall it can be described maybe as one era being before nerd culture became truly mainstream while the other exists in a time after that happened.

wow that second group of nerdcore flew completely under my radar, I don't recognize any of these names. NemRaps really stands out, I'll have to listen to more. thanks.

edit: one more for fun, rather than just replying to the thread

There was this female Nerdcore MC that had a really strange career path. She started out as a Nerdcore artist named MC Router (born Kristin Nicole Ritchie) and had a few songs:
She then moved to the Netherlands and became a Dutch musician named Krisje.
After that, she left hip hop entirely and became a Muslim and an Arabic translator. She changed her name to Abedah Ritchie. She appeared on Dr Phil because her family disagreed with her conversion to Islam.

Router just made me sad. she was always angry and always fucking up and her music wasn't good enough to back up that attitude. she was like the nerdcore laugh track. I remember she had mad beef with some other girl in the nerdcore scene but neither of them were that great.

In the 2000’s there was this rapper from Spain who put out songs about video games and animé. His stage name is Porta (I assume short for portable). Because Spanish hip hop is known to be very political, Porta was originally ostracized by his country’s hip hop community for his nerdy rap songs. However, he later became popular in both Spain and Latin America.

I used to listen to MC Frontalot, but that was a long time ago.

Nowadays the closest thing to nerdcore that I listen to is this Russian rap band called "Есть Есть Есть". A lot of their songs are like self-contained sci-fi stories. For example, this one is about the Olympic games where all restrictions on PEDs were lifted, so all the athletes are doped up and cybernetically augmented.

This is maybe a long-shot but KF members are usually good at archiving stuff/hoarding data; about a decade ago nerdcore rapper KABUTO THE PYTHON was beefing with a rapper named Satellite High, he made some videos on YouTube about it and there was some drama exchanged but now the videos seem to be gone. does anyone have a backup or archive of them they can share here?

knew the man behind the curtain was a nerdcore enjoyer :smug:
