New-gen Logitech 'LGHUB' is the worst fucking piece of firmware out there - Built just right for fagtarded zoomers

Are there any mice from well known companies that have good drivers? All the mice worth their salt nowadays seem to have forced account creation or the likes to modify anything.
Microsoft and Glorious both have good out-of-the-box experiences and reasonable optional software for tweaking settings.

Get mice from less mainstream brands. My Mionix mouse doesn't require an account to modify anything.

Corsair wired mice are decent and the software for them is optional. I've never really had issues with any of the Corsair mice I've owned.

IIRC, standardized ball size as well. You can pay 5$ and put a ball bearing in this thing and the CAD people I hung out with in college swore by it for doing precise movements.

Maybe not a well-known but I'm a fan of Bloody as the up-and-coming logitech replacement.

I have this mouse. The app to configure it is portable, has a shitty 90s-looking red and black custom window chrome and physically flashes the mouse's firmware when you change settings so you never have to install or look at it again once your binds are correct. It supports some fairly sophisticated binds too like turning the whole right mouse button area into a numpad if you're holding another key, which owns for apps like Blender that use the numpad as the standard camera control.

It'd be nearly perfect if only it didn't have that shitty plastic that gets gooey in a decade on the grip..

Currently using Razer Deathadder Essential, Logitech MX Master IIs, and Logitech MX Performance, none of which have the "required" software installed and all of which work just fine.

It's even so aids that when I go to default profile settings on my g933, it simply will not work. Uses like 200MiB of RAM and has all these stupid graphics with close to zero utility.

Fuck man logitech used to be the kings of gaymer tech... At least I haven't upgraded my hardware since 2018

Maybe you disagree on all of these. That's fine, but when you feel what it's like to scroll down a long-ass PDF with one of these bad boys you'll never go back to a mouse. Bind that little silver Back button to toggle scrolling and let it fucking rip!!!

I'm also partial to Logitech's "Unifying Receiver." They're just a tad larger than a USB-A plug and can be paired with a number of their products (mice, keyboards, touchpads, etc.) Also: unofficial Linux support. They're better than shitty Bluetooth adapters by a mile. The aforementioned K-400 keyboard + touchpad is a must-have for any HTPC/couch setup IMO, although the other poster is correct in that "Plus" model feels like a downgrade.

One thing I like about Linux is that there's almost never official software for controlling peripherals, so inevitably someone will come along and write software that works 100x better than the stock software on Windows, with the only downside being that it looks like total shit. It's really something.
I still own that one too.

I just acquired a second hand Fnatic Clutch to replace my shite Chinesium mouse that expired.

On the plus side, it looks like an actual mouse rather than having tons of angles and 77 programmable buttons. Two buttons, a scroll wheel which doubles as middle button, two thumb buttons for the side. That's all anyone really needs. Also a DPI toggle with some quite handy lights that show what sensitivity settings.

Unfortunately it had fucking RGB everywhere, and I had to read the (paper) manual to make it stop looking like a Pride Parade on E. Thankfully you can do this by holding the DPI switch and other buttons in a certain way and didn't have to install fucking branded spyware.

I am definitely with some of the Luddities when it comes to the IBM Model M (kinda wish it had volume controls though), but there is a reason you don't really see alot of usage of vintage mice - no one back then got ergonomics right, and the old ones (if you even used a mouse - as a KF old, I don't remember them being common until Win 3.1 era) are too small/uncomfortable to use. I've found that if I unless I use a large/ergo mouse, I devolop repetitive strain injury to my hand and will get twitches. Ever since I used ergo mice, it hasn't returned.

I've been using a G502 Hero from Logitech after my old G502 fell apart, I wouldn't mind a better equivalent. Logitech requiring Gaming Software or whatever the fuck its called as a Windows only program (that doesn't work right in WINE) is fucking gay. I am not surprised LGHUB does the same shit.

I still use a Logitech Marble, works fine out of the box in Ubuntu, although for some reason it the latest LTS I can't enable scrolling on it when it was fine in 18.04

I understand, man. The G502 is the best mouse I've ever used, but the software it wants to use is the MOST cancer. Why does it flag anticheat? Fuckssake.

Wrong this is their best product
