no browser can playback MKV that i know of, it's a container format instead of an actual codec.
just run it through ffmpeg and wait 30 seconds or give josh another $6000 so he can add another GPU to process any format you upload on the backend cuz you're a lazy faggot
Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks man.

He's saying that the upload system is incapable of converting MKV to one of the accepted formats.

If it's using FFmpeg to do the transcoding, conversion of an MKV to one of the formats that can be displayed shouldn't be a problem.

Feedback or issues: Video player does not allow for opening videos in a new tab like before.
For me on Firefox it does show a "Copy Video Link" option, but it always puts this link into my clipboard no matter the video:
Code:
https://kiwifarms.st/styles/custom/backgrounds/damnatio-memoriae5.webp
And same for the "Save Video As..." option, it tries to save the webp. Hovering over the download button shows a "Copy Link" button that does actually work though.

Is there any possibility of having the default volume not be maxed out, or have the ability to lower the volume prior to hitting the play button?
It's also nice when sites remember your volume settings, at least for the current browsing session. That way you don't have to adjust every time you play a video in a thread.

Put the "Kiwi Farms" watermark is all 4 corners? The faggots that steal videos from here might be willing to put in enough effort to chop off one edge of a video to avoid KF getting credit. I doubt they would go to the trouble of chopping off 4 sides at once.

Transcode everything to h264 because Firefox still does not work with newer codecs due to licensing
Does it not? I can click and drag a webm into a new tab and it plays it, says Opus, libaom AV1 [Main]

This is an old prank video purposely encoded wrong to display a run time of over 43 hours (it actually is only about 5 minutes) and I'm curious what will happen if I upload it.

Also, cheese is topical

EDIT: Looks like it figured out the real duration in the Kiwi player, very nice. I'm sorry I couldn't give you 29 quintillion cheeses though null
