Out of curiosity I tried Chris' pen grip. This is how I experienced:

It feels kind of weird and it's unusual. The positive side of this grip is it actually locks the pen in your hand. With this grip your movements will be solely relied on your wrist, which is pretty ok to draw straight and long lines as you entire arm is placed on the desk to support this.
However a big flaw is it's less suited to draw fine and small details because you're relying on your wrist too often which can lead you straining your wrist. Using your fingers to coordinate your movements would be better at long terms.

The bottomeline is Chris' pengrip is good to do crude artwork but it isn't suited for doing fine details

Good to see fatty is working on something he's currently scamming people on (Until he makes his promise in finishing it). Even though I'm sure this issue wouldn't make any more money until he gets to the next.

Watch him beg for some crayola.
 
Having actually flipped through the video now, this is the most pointless stream in a long time except as a way to implicitly say "There I did it, now gimme 5 dollars"

Is it just me, or does the Sonichu art look like it is getting worse? He put the same amount of effort into his main characters as he did for his drawing of Mitch Sonichu & Co.

Not to say Sonichu had high production values in the first place, but Time Hogs this is not.
 
I like how Sonichu's body completely changes shape when he wears winter clothes. He goes from being kind of cartoony to looking like the Brawny mascot.

Also, it took me a moment to realize that flying squirrel in a peanut costume was supposed to be Angelica.

Right you are. Except you need to replace 'praise' with 'donations'. Chris has been told countless time that he could make money doing Sonichu pages and he wants to see if it actually pays off despite technically being 1000$ in already. So if he sees donations he'll do another page, beg some more...every page is probably going to come with an invisible price tag; even though he owes one hundred in advance.

As for where the story could go after Christmas I have a good idea where Chris is going. He's making all of Sonichu's kids grow-up because he wants to put then in High School and re-insert himself as Christine and relive the glory days. He might even turn the focus of the series back over to the main character, (unlikely). It's evident with his renewed interest in Son-Chu that the Samurai Pizza Bots are going to play a much larger role than before too...that's if he even gets past the one page.

Certainly feels like he'd want to relive high school vicariously through his "Next Gen" characters.

If Chris took art classes he would know to draw a rough draft in pencil.
That's also the worst pen grip ever it looks like his hand is cramped up. :story:

He even holds his pen like an autist. His parents really did nothing to correct anything he has ever done.

Honestly, I feel good seeing him do this. It's like the most fucking positive and productive thing he's done in years. Someone buy him a better camera stand so he can setup an over the shoulder shot like the pros do. We already know that going digital isn't an option here. True masters stay with traditional mediums.

I feel like this isn't the case, because if it were Chris would certainly have let the info slip out several videos ago, but considering his actions the last couple of weeks does anyone else feel like a new "manager" may have stepped in? His actions just seem so well guided and coordinated compared to his random and pathetic begging over the last couple of years.
 
May is a month that likes to be holiday free. In may you are done with Easter, and have a while before Fourth of July (other countries don't even have Fourth of July thus skipping it) and your far away from October Halloween. October is when the holiday season really starts. With Halloween then next month thanksgiving and then December Christmas. Oh yeah and most countries skip thanksgiving too. So May is hella not holiday month.
 
It's sad that only financial gain almost always takes precedence over the importance of art anymore. I know commissions are important for livelihood, I just wish people like Chris could do art and enjoy them just for the sake of having an outlet. Creativity being subjective, of course. I think Chris really did used to enjoy his little Sonichu world.

The problem is that Chris ran out of outside enemies to take revenge upon and was forced to confront his own demons, this is why he has gone off drawing Sonichu.
 
Let's consider the possibilities of what brought this on:

Chris is really fucking desperate for money (probable)

Chris, despite years of enjoying it otherwise, no longer finds joy in video gaming all damn day. He has actually become bored with his laziness and wants to actually DO SOMETHING to make his days fulfilled

Chris has been swept up by inspiration (HA!..oh wait, you seriously think that? Let me laugh harder. HAHAHAHAHAHA!)

Regardless of the reason, I wonder how long this will last. Because Chris' reputation for not seeing things through is something that is spoken of in legend
