Speaking as a 1980's slasher style masked serial/spree killer (pronouns: OH GAWD NO!!!/gutteral death rattle sound), I have to say that *stabs OP repeatedly with unlikely but convenient sharp object*.

If a subculture arises later it's worse by default because they're less and less about people actually interacting with other people in real life and thus are more corporate and serve less of a point.

Exactly, there's a quality subculture. It teaches you a lot about anatomy, survivalism (can't stalk teenagers in the woods if you can't live off the land), psychology (esp. of fear), hand sharpening, etc. What are you supposed to do nowadays though, just break into someone's house and murder people? They pretty much strangle themselves at night via apnea, they're too fat.

Cosmic horror and almighty deities vs a helpless populace is really where it's at these days, just another extension of the war against the working class, namely homicidal maniacs and their hopeful victims.

this is a retarded thread
And this is a useless post.
Worse to whom, the members or the outsiders laughing at them?
I have to agree.
OP, be more expressive, in what ways?

But to answer the example, I'd say so, mostly because there was more of a movement and things being made under the umbrela of subcultures then.
Emo had a music genre, goths were in cartoons, punks with spiked hair were everywhere in movies.
It might be because I don't follow whatever subcultures are popular nowadays, but I don't see many things being made under the umbrella of "kpop" aside from the music, might be a bad example but I see it everywhere but it still doesn't have much beside the Korean man dancing to their music. Does that make sense?

Yes. They're cringe as fuck. That's what happens when a generation grows up entirely online. Only nuclear fire will cleanse this shit, unfortunately.

basically i think there has been a shift nowadays in how these "niche" communities behave. maybe it *is* because of the way the internet has evolved to be but i was wondering if there were any other reasons for the apparent change.

Wasn't there an attempted murder on some k-pop singer by a fan some time ago? Could also have been an idol, I'm not really into that stuff, but I do know that the fans are insanely fervent. Oh yes. Just remembered that they produce shit called "fan-chants" (almost identical but shitty renditions of their adored band's music) used to impress other fans and prove their devotion.

Sorry for wall of text but this is a low quality thread so I can't be bothered to edit it.

Dammit, Voorhees, do I have to go get Tina to Carrie your ass back into behaving again?

Anyway, they SEEM to be worse, but careful looking will get one to see that really, they're as bad as they ever were.

Some of them get cheat codes though. I mean, most slashers don't get things like Dream Powers or the benefit of being a Summoned Demon of Vengeance. Even Jason, good as he was, got the Immortality mod (fan speculation has said that he's in fact a Deadite due to the presence of the Necronomicon in Jason Goes to Hell, but who likes THAT film?).

Now Micheal Myers, THERE was a working class slasher, by gum.

Modern zoomer subcultures are pussified as shit, if even existant to begin with. Oversocialization has ruined the west
