Carbon monoxide replaces the oxygen in your blood, helium just displaces oxygen in the room.

Your hemoglobin loves CO more than it does oxygen, so once it attaches, it stays there, preventing you from metabolizing new oxygen even if you get it. That's why it takes so long to detoxify from it, if you survive, while you'll probably be okay if you start breathing normal oxygen again before you get brain damage from nitrogen. CO is a much more effective suicide method than helium or nitrogen, but has the unfortunate tendency of also killing anyone else nearby who inhales it.

Also they should probably put an escape button in it for people who change their mind, which many people will when the panic from not having oxygen sets in. CO doesn't set that off, which is why people often die in their sleep from exposure to it.

Not putting a panic button on a device like this seems like begging opportunistic family members to fill a lawsuit.

But then again, could they sue Nitschke if he's not actually producing nor selling these?
Call me jaded but I think assuming they add one, some how some one is gonna hit it and not mean to and sue for damages.

The coffin looks shit. If I wanted to have one of these I'd want it to be animu edgy as possible. Make it a real coffin with spikes inside and is set up to work by making the sides detach from each other from my back and then getting back together whilst putting me in between.

Make it post the user's nudes on facebook instead, so they get ashamed enough to top themselves properly
