Feedback "new users" paradox

GG I got thread banned from the community happenings thread.

I eagerly await higher quality users to take up the mantle - the same users who are being told to stop using GIFs.

Sorry if my community updates harmed anyone and sorry for making posts that reek of effort (as someone once said).

The guest/reader is free to pick the option that interests them: the onus is on you, the introducer of a relatively obscure thread, to explain why it's interesting and why one should be interested in their contents. Misrepresenting it for no reason is committing the cardinal sin of wasting everyone's time. It's like giving an update on DSP and expecting everyone else to read nearly twenty thousand pages of absolute autism.

I've been here for 6 years, I didn't know what the fuck the Square Box was about. Would have been nice to know.

I genuinely don't care that much - I think this thread was dancing around that topic and said as much.

Why put effort into posts if the forum is just populated by low quality users? Why put effort in if I get thread banned for just posting what trump literally said? Why put effort in if a mod is going to remove my posts because they don't like the source I'm using?

It may sound arrogant and all that but I know people read my posts and they generate interest, discussion and traffic and posting is something I did enjoy... But my interest in it has been waning - and it doesn't feel like I've changed anything but the forum has changed.

A good example is my avatar which had been constant for more than an entire year was removed with no real explanation.

Anyway, must make room for people who use GIFs so much there needs to be a permanent sign to tell them to stop.
 
I find it hard to believe you haven't just been screwing around for a giggle the entire time. But at some point, it still becomes retarded anyways lol

Completely buck broken by Null for getting rid of the animated avatar because Null and only Null found it mildly annoying. You even tried to edit it to make it less obnoxious.

I'm pretty zen about this and people hating my posts - it used to be people would leave a suggestion on my profile to add a link to a post or something like that in a cordial manner... I can't recall anyone recently stating something like that in a similar manner. (Although there were a few people who pointed out faults with my post in a quite friendly manner later on)

I really don't care about the Democrat/Republican shit that a lot of people seem to ride or die with. I don't use 4chan. I vaguely remember it shutting down.

My political opinions are highly varied and the main problem isn't with politics itself but being censured for posting an image of exactly what trump said. Not sure what the point of discussing any politics is if you can't quote the commander in chief.

Genuine advice that I genuinely hope you take because this is genuinely what the source of these problems is:

The issue is not intrinsic to you. No one hates you just to hate you. The vast majority of people do not know much about you.
You give people who know nothing about you impetus to hate you by how you respond to negative feedback.
You need to quickly learn to ignore. If something on the Internet is causing you emotional injury, or it is injuring your pride:
Don't react to it.
Don't say you're ignoring it.
Don't hint that you are bothered.
Don't ask why people respond negatively.
Don't try and appear larger in life than them.

It does not matter that your Internet pride or Internet reputation is at risk. You have to simply ignore it. Because it is a statistical certainty that no matter what you say there is going to be someone out there who hates you for it.
If you don't take this advice you will be far worse off in a shockingly short amount of time.

Ignore it,
Deal with it,
Move on.

Perhaps at one stage I would've felt a sense of loss about something like this, which I agree with you to be trivial, but I'm getting older and slowing down and looking at things differently.

what's this thread about again?? for your own emotional well-being it sounds to me like you've got an unhealthy attachment. take a little break, dude. take refuge in another interest of yours. You've made great posts before, but recently it looks like you've jumped the gun on more than a few occasions. We all need breaks now and then, especially when our judgment becomes clouded like that. Your own mental health should be FAR above driving forum activity. It sounds like you're letting it get to you. We'll be here when you get back. ...I think.
