I like how he genuinely thinks that people hate him because they just need more Sonichu. He....he really doesn't get it...

By the way, a whole year just passed since Chris was paid 1000$ for drawing 100 pages. We all know of well that went. And we can all guess how much of a shit Chris gives about it.

Nope!

What I didn't get is "Small Town of YesterCentury", that's a new one on me. Is that some other show Chris bothered to watch?

Chris seems to view his High School days, and really any day prior to what he deems as bad, as "The good old days".

Over the years, he has come to imagine his high school years as the best times in his life, mainly because he's either forgotten, or just doesn't acknowledge the bad things that have happened. Hot and cold running galpals, school where he could just sleep through classes, nice women teachers, Pokemans, Ass Snatchem Up costumes, those were the days Chris is enamored about.

I'm sure if someone reminded Chris that he was demoted to the short bus for being an exceptional individual, or people bullied him, he'd claim those were just lies and didn't happen, even if shown things he created that describe those things.

That's more than a lot of really good manga geniuses with experience get paid. If Chris kept up with it, I think he could have made a killing and stuck it to all the haters, but Chris enjoys self-betrayal.

I don't think that Chris realizes that he liked that experience along with his childhood because, while kids and teens often view it fondly, they also view it as a prison where things are orderly and you have actual structure. Chris' autism craves structure and has developed a mind of its own.
Before we reach adulthood our lives tend to be very black and white, and Chris finds the most comfort in this. If Borb had set up some structure for Chris after his graduation and eventual banishment from PVCC, I don't think he would be on the internet.

I suppose I'm more familiar with the term 'Yesteryear" then. In this context, he would be correct if it's pre-21st century.

Whatever floated his boat then.

I bet.

Never going to get out of his shell that easy.

That's true. You definitely felt like a different person once that first portion of your life has ended.

Double post!

Sassy Chris getting caught in lies and telling Kim she needs to be more compassionate! :)

This takes me back to around this time, when on /cwc/ everyone seen the ModNation Racers 'Trollbusters,' vehicles and got all excited that he was set to do a spin off comic about a group of people who go after his online trolls.

It's kind of sad that was actually the plan but he ruined it by being lazy and thought that making a few virtual vehicles, was an entertaining substitute for an actual comic.

The most entertaining of these emails have definitely been when Chris has had enough with your constructive criticism and passively attacks you for it in varying degrees of intensity. His 'yeah I'm pretty sure you're being sarcastic with x comment,' is hilarious because he has a patchy record with understanding sarcasm and its purpose.

I wonder what DSstecks thinks of his investment now?

Honestly, I think Chris was just too dumb to know when he was being made fun of. IIRC there were some anecdotes that suggested he was sort of bullied back then but he didn't really understand what was happening. I suppose that's for the best though. It probably would have crushed his spirits even earlier. Then we'd never get the adventure that was Sonichu.

Very much this. Chris needs rules and structure, and when he isn't provided with them... well, you get the sad tranny saga. It's part of the reason Chris was so easy to troll back in the day. He's a very literal, black-and-white sort of thinker. If someone tells him something, it must be true. He can't really fathom a lot of things. That usually works against him, but I think that given some sort of strong authority figure (ie, not Barb) or institutional structure, he could be fine. Okay, maybe not fine, but a helluva a lot better than what he is now.

I suppose I'm more familiar with the term 'Yesteryear" then. In this context, he would be correct if it's pre-21st century.

It's Chris messing up commonly used phrases again. The fact that he devoured old Nick at Night era TV shows from the 50s with his parents makes him seem dated, but I think Chris really does believe in 'simpler times' and a weird, Norman Rockwell-esque America that never really existed. What he really doesn't understand is just how lucky he is to live in an era of Pokemon games and MLP. Back in the day he would have been treated much, much worse than he ever was in his lifetime.

What's even funnier is that back in "those days", Chris would have even the women pushing him into being more responsible. His antics would have had him confined to some state hospital, or out picking fruit on a farm. Walk around looking like a prosti-tot in a mini skirt probably would have earned him a beat down by the local greasers, or his parents.

He wouldn't have just been able to run off when the tism hit in Elementary School, and everyone in town would know about the Chandlers.

Honestly, you are right in the assessment that these days are the best for an exceptional male lesbian like him.

As far as I know the amount that Manga Artists gets paid by Japanese publishers are more than that. Beginning artists gets around $80 per page, which can ramp up to around $ 150 depending on the popularity of the manga. Each chapter consists around 20 pages so they get a decently paycheck whenever they submit their work. However these artists needs to put shitload of effort and time to draw it so it becomes a 18/7 job or even worse. Not to mention their livingexpenses in the region of Tokyo, where the bigshot companies are settled, are high as hell. Also some artists needs to hire an assistant to help them in order to make the deadline so that makes up as an additional expense. In the end the average artist's net income is very low.

In Chris' case he gets overpaid. His work doesn't posses any quality. There are no major expenses and he doesn't even have a deadline. He should be gratefull someone is paying him to draw comics.

Oh dearie. And he claims to shower 'often', does that mean once a week? Because I cannot help but wonder how he can stink so horribly if he does shower regularly.
It doesn't matter how "often" Chris showers if he doesn't know how to use soap or shampoo properly and never changes his clothes.

Also it cracks me up how Chris is always ordering other people to show him more compassion and empathy--traits he barely, if at all, possesses himself. Barb and Chris are the type of people that walk all over those that are charitable to them.

I felt a bit sorry for him that he has no clue whether the people who he feels close to are genuinely real people.
Then I remembered that he is convinced Sonichu and Cwcville are real, so there's not much of a difference.
Well, he doesn't actually think they are real. It's more that their plane of fiction is closer to reality for him than it is for most people.

But as you say, his plane of reality is closer to fiction than other people's. Many parts of his life have a Truman Show-like quality. People close to him are just playing roles, scenarios he deals with are just set ups to see how he reacts. And while he has not developed the ability to recognize this, he has learned from experience that it is a very real possibility, so there seems to be a part of him that is always asking "is this real?".

Unfortunately, he uses wish fulfillment way too much to categorize them. Some woman wants to be his friend, or maybe even his sweetheart and he thinks it must be true. Some guy wants his money back for merch he paid for and never got, and he thinks it must be a troll, so fuck it.

I've said tis before but I wish someone would point Chris in the direction of manga like Bakuman and Shirobako. Now it is probably too late but it might have been interesting if he knew about just how hard it is to cut it as an actual professional in such a demanding industry. And the best way of making Chris learn anything seems to be through fiction.
But yes, he is absurdly overpaid considering how little muster any of his 'work' is. Hell, forget professional mangaka, doujin artists are leaps and bounds ahead of him.

It doesn't matter how "often" Chris showers if he doesn't know how to use soap or shampoo properly and never changes his clothes.

You have a point there. By 'showering often' I assumed he meant actually showering, as in using soap and rinsing thoroughly but this is Chris. Odds are he steps into the shower, splashes a bit of water, then steps out and believes he has 'showered'. And even that, I doubt he does it on a daily basis.

What's even funnier is that back in "those days", Chris would have even the women pushing him into being more responsible. His antics would have had him confined to some state hospital, or out picking fruit on a farm. Without a doubt, Chris is extremely lucky to be living in an age that allows he to step foot outside his home in that tomgirl outfit without being beaten within an inch of his life. And long before that he would indeed end up in some loony bin, probably taking electric shock therapy. 'Yesteryear' was not kind to the likes of Chris. But then again, I doubt he would be quite the same individual we know in those days. He would probably not be any saner but would have kept his thoughts to himself after the first beating or so.

Yes, Chris is overpaid. In comparison, if Chris could get someone to commission his junk at the same rate, he would still net more than he deserves.

Chris' OkCupid period. Chris wanted me to do all the work for him, because if you help him with one thing he expects to have everything done for him. Then I guess he got frustrated and decided to fuss at me for not wanting to date him. Then he fussed about the trolls, Snyder, the jerkops but doesn't listen to my advice to not do that.
...in an e-mail you mention Chris thinks his face looks scary? I mean, he's right, but how did he reach that conclusion?

Ahaha, this one is great.

Chris stretches his flaccid penis like chewing gum and shoves it up his butthole. As proof of how well endowed he is. :achievement::achievement::achievement::achievement::achievement:
"Go fuck yourself, Chris. "

"Hm, yeah, I actually did that just the udder day. You're missing out."

How he reaches every conclusion, go with what gets him what he wants

I think one thing is missing, though, after he told them they were "missing out", he should have told them how he adds vaginal outlines

I applied naraja lip balm with vaginal outlines. And I flexed muscles and booty.
That will be one of my favorite Chris quotes because none of it was true and it made no sense.

There's that. Someone could easily had dissed him for making that CD cover from the start and that would be the end of that. I now how it felt like to get picked on like that for something you thought you had good intentions with.

Reason why I'd think a caregiver or guardian provided by the state is what he needs. Someone to basically tell him what to do.

I brought this up before, but Chris reminded me of Brendan Fraser's character in "Blast from the Past" who's whole character/personality was shaped by his isolation inside a bomb shelter his parents set up during the Cuban Missile Crisis, only to pop out near the close of the 20th century and see just how different everything was.

but I think Chris really does believe in 'simpler times' and a weird, Norman Rockwell-esque America that never really existed.
Sort of what my parents thought prior to the 60's.

What he really doesn't understand is just how lucky he is to live in an era of Pokemon games and MLP. Back in the day he would have been treated much, much worse than he ever was in his lifetime.
True, anyone who'd obsessed over kids' stuff was already a target.

It's interesting to see that he's more aware of his failings than he's usually given credit for.
