I guess you're right. Many of these stories very well could be falsified by folks who're just out to get a reaction from the people who come across them. But truth can be stranger than fiction so who can say for sure? There are a lot of weird people out there. Some have entire threads dedicated to them on these forums.

I really hate "Nice Guys." And people who whine about being nice but never getting the girl.
See the thing is being a nice guy is standard issue. Being a legitimately decent fucking human being doesn't make you special or some kinda fuckin' miracle, it just makes you normal.
That, and being "nice" is like the highschool diploma of dating. It's basic, and running around demanding everyone hire you just 'cause you passed basic fucking education is just a wankery thing to do.
Not only that but I've seen some nice guys that're just absolute door mats, and c'mon, no one wants to date someone that has no balls.

Man I've been having to deal with Nice Guys at work a lot lately.
The girl I'm seeing now and I met at work, and there's really not a deep bench there in terms of ladies, and she's easily the best looking one so she gets a lot of attention, especially from these scrawny little weenie "artsy" types because she's got sort of an "alternative" look going on. They do things like buy her cute little cactus things, bring her tea unsolicited, try to chat about all their "unique" artsy tastes. Thing is they really don't care for me because as a crass, boorish American (I know I've mentioned I live in Prague) who watches sports and exercises (and can see right through the sort of people they are because they're complete stereotypes), I'm "not good enough for her" and she "can do so much better!" So you know, the typical sneaky Nice Guy shit where they run their mouths to the girl about how "You never say anything good about him," where she has to respond that "I don't tell you anything about him because it's not your business."
So the latest thing is with some little French dork who's complaining that her being with me is the "basic, boring, predictable" thing to do and it's "disappointing." They were talking about cider, because she likes it, and he starts talking about how she should try this other exotic cider, because "Why would you settle for something basic when there's something so much better right next to it? Seems like a waste to me," which is a way of talking about cider that no one in the history of talking about cider has ever talked about cider, so it's obvious what he actually means.
It's really annoying because off the top of my head, there's at least five of these guys all trying to pull the same shit. None of them know me at all because we don't really talk and they're obviously not the sort of people I'd care to hang out with, but they all feel qualified to judge me and try to horn in on my girl because I know how to read AND lift a weight every now and then.

Doesn't that differentiate their behavior enough, though? Nice guys still actively seek out women to harass, incels isolate themselves in their basements and write reddit manifestos. There's noticeable enough variation in the content that can be gotten from them.
