Plagued Nice Guys

Well, that depends on being a lone wolf because you get tired of crowds/groups rather than because the "pack" exiles you. Like people who are good at leadership, but don't like the pressure of being a leader.

I would say alpha is a status were a "pack" can look at you and trust your choices for the good of the pack. Or something like that. But that's just my two cents.

Back on topic, is not like Nice Guys (tm) could lead anything, they can't even put their priorities and life in order, ffs.
I'm not a sociology expert, technically I think that "alpha" as it actually relates to sociology (unlike PUA junk where every guy can "be an alpha" if he just masters "game") does refer to basically being a leader, or someone who others imitate versus someone who imitates others.

At the same time a person can be a "lone wolf" and still be "alpha
And if we're going to be honest, having the prestige he does and using it to virtue signal about feminism doesn't hurt.

Not to lambaste the guy, he's one of my favorite comics. But we live in a world where standing on a table and shouting "I BELIEVE WOMEN ARE EQUAL" will get you cheered as if you're some edgy revolutionary dropping truth bombs no one had ever thought of before in the right circles. Good on him for doing well with his career but he does epitomize the "comedy as a preaching platform" archetype.

It's a little nuanced, I think that being a complete "lone wolf" might be when "alpha" is taken to an unhealthy extreme and ends up backfiring; because the individual is so unwilling to cooperate or 'take orders' from others that they end up being basically exiled; so in that case it's not 'beta' in the sense of being a blind follower, but it ends up coming full circle, since the beta never gets any social prestige due to being an ass kisser and a blind follower, while the 'lone wolf' ends up not getting any social prestige due to being so antisocial or aggressive that no one will accept them into their 'tribe'.

This is basically what happens to guys like the "Return of Kings" folks who try to be "alpha" but are such egotistical try-hards and lacking in real social competence that they end up only able to score drunken sluts at a bar on occasion because no self-respecting woman would actually date them or have their kids; so they end up losing out over guys who are more genuinely socially competant; while on the other extreme you have the simpering betas who might be able to find some domineering wife willing marry them in exchange for room and board, and who only get sex on their birthday if they're lucky.

Alpha is a social status and you're only an alpha if the pack recognizes you as one.

Vox Day has been thrown out of every group he's ever been in. That's being a lone wolf, which isn't good. It's called omega status.
This is legit.
Alpha male = ruler of the pack

When people think of alpha male they think of physical traits or some other bullshit about "alpha attitude", when they should see it as the animal version of politics, in which most packs are monarchies.

In 2008-2016 barack Obama was the alpha male of the united states. If you aren't the leader of bunch of people you aren't alpha. It's the order of hierarchy, with betas being on top of gammas, and gammas being on top of omegas.

If you aren't in authority over anyone you're an omega.

Most men nowadays control nobody and are thus omega. I'm omega, you're probably omega, @OmegaKV is DEFINITELY omega.

PUAs need death for peddling this shitty meme.

"Game" doesn't exist. It's a bunch of shitty ways to pretend to not care about things in order to hopefully get people to think you're cool (if you cross your fingers and the planets align).

Somebody should tell these assholes that the REAL REDPILL is fucking Briffault's law. Something thought of by somebody who actually studied how relationships function, not a bunch of reddit-tier theorists.

Return of kangs is a shitty clickbait site.

Personally, I dont take any of them red pill/MGTOW sites seriously. Yeah, the whole self-improvement thing, and doing things for yourself thing is a good message, but other than that, I take everything else they say with a grain of salt. Not all women are evil sociopaths out to cuck you to death, despite what MGTOW thinks.

The whole Alpha-Beta strikes me as a particularly autistic or a particularly furry thing for nice guys to obsess over. I mean an entire wealth of social theory at a pseudo intellectual's disposal and they circlejerk over that.

-Like nigga, you ain't no wolf and Chad didn't skew Social Dynamics against you. You did.

vox day also has some other categories of men he has added besides alpha-beta
Deltas: The normal guys. They can't attract the most attractive women, usually aim for the second-tier women with very limited success, and stubbornly resist paying attention to all of the third-tier women who are reasonably in their league.
Gammas: The outsiders, the unusual ones, the unattractive, and all too often the bitter. Often intelligent, reliably unsuccessful with women, and not uncommonly all but invisible to them
Omega: The truly unfortunate ones. The losers who were never in the game. Sometimes creepy, sometimes damaged, often clueless, and always undesirable.
Sigma: The outsiders who don't play the social game and manage to win at it anyhow. The alphas hate sigmas because they are the only men who don't accept or at least acknowledge their social dominance. (NB: Alphas absolutely hate to be laughed at and a sigma can enrage an alpha by simply smiling at him.) Everyone else is vaguely confused by them. At the party, it's the guy who stops by to say hello to a few friends accompanied by a tier one girl that no one has ever seen before. Sigmas often like women, but also tend to be contemptuous of them.

only aspies on misc care about who's "alpha" in the first place, let alone these basement-tier classifications

For what it's worth, the word "nice" wasn't even originally a compliment; the etymology of the word actually means "pedantic" or "foolish".

For what it's worth they've essentially taken age old social and philosophical concepts and dumbed them down significantly and presented them as something completely new and original.

The notion for example of a "dual nature" in humans which needs to be evenly balanced is actually as old as Aristotle, and the Taoist theories of "yin yang".

Basically the legitimate theories more or less postulate that people have to strike a balance between extreme individualism on the 'left', and extreme conformity on the 'right'; since if everyone wanted to be an "alpha" or a leader, then people would just fight and destroy one another, but if everyone wanted to be a "beta" or a follower, then people would just stagnate and nothing would get done.

Guys like Roosh and co have basically just taken some notions of age old wisdom and dumbed them down into frat boy cliches about "nice guys vs bad boys" and all that; they also don't even understand the theories they've stolen their ideas from, since in the actual philosophies, advocating being a "bad boy" as the ultimate goal would basically be akin to an imbalance in yang and a deficit of yin, in the Taoist concept, or in the Aristotlean concept it would likewise be too much of an extreme in the 'left' direction rather than hitting the "Golden mean".

Very interesting indeed, well the more things change, the more they stay the same. I also like the yin and yang comparison, because everything in life requires balance. You cant go too extreme in either direction, gotta find the right balance between "bad boy/jerk" and "nice guy/pedastilizer".

In other words, you gotta be a little bit of an asshole, but not too much like one. Dont give in to people for the sake of trying to please them, but at the same time, dont go out of your way to be a douche to them either.

Incidentally, Vox doesn't consider himself "alpha" by his system above. Guess which one he thinks he is. Just guess.

And by jewellery, I mean some nice golden handcuffs for later. I know how to treat a lady....but I suppose you'll do as I can't find one.

Cricket is immune to negging, you'll have to try one of the vast populations of emotionally insecure girls we have on this forum

Speaking of PUA, do they actually think insulting a chick will get them laid? I'm genuinely curious as to how that works

Jokes on you, most of the men are insecure.

The idea, from what I gather, is that the insult itself is not the attractive thing, its the confidence to do so that might be attractive. However, if a Nice Guy tried it IRL, he'd probably stammer it out, look like a tard and then get beaten down by the nightclub security.
