In another thread that was talking tangentially about the soy/nice guy, I think I realized the same thing. I came up with the term "Cultural Quisling" to describe it.

They'll ape whatever mannerisms they have to and say whatever they think needs to be said to curry favor with the "in" group, for personal benefit, and then try to deny ever having liked all those things when the tides of power change, ignorant that everyone darn well SAW him shake the Nazi's hands when they marched in, and aren't going to forget it.

Nice guys have no loyalty to anything but their own desires, and will sell out anyone and anything in a heartbeat if it looks like there's a pussy angle in it for them, and then whine whine whine when called out on it, belatedly realizing they backed the wrong horse.

Good take. Honestly what I get from them is that these guys are lazy. They think being nice is a solid tactic instead of hitting the weights, taking a shower, or getting a clue. Also they also talk about maturity. Why go after a hot 20 something then? They want somebody funny and interesting. A 30 something single mom might go for the nice guy routine.

If you're trying to get something from someone, and you know that giving them a certain bit of critical information might make them not give you that thing, leaving out the information is a form of scamming. And giving a woman a pass on questionable behavior just because she's a woman and "it's hard to be a woman" is...Well, it's basically what Nice Guys do in their Thirst stage.

Hit me with the Dumb ratings if you want, because money is more important than integrity or Zoe Quinn was a victim or whatever the excuse is, but it doesn't change that people should be better to each other.
