It's really not tjat complicated. Nick covered a whole bunch of Tru crime drama. Not just the Sophie Long shit but also the Johnny Depp stuff. It attracted an entire bevy of bored cougars who are in to that shit.

People around here were actually warning Nick to keep them at Arms length. Both the Depp and Sophie crowd were certifiably insane. Nick clearly was a sucker for attention.
