Nickelodeon and actor Michael D. Cohen have launched a major search for the next child star, and they want to cast a trans actor.
Cohen, the star of Nickelodeon shows Henry Danger and its spin-off, Danger Force, came out as trans in May 2019 – publicly disclosing what those around him had long known, which was that he had transitioned 20 years earlier.

Now, the youth-oriented network has partnered with the star of the number one live-action kids’ show on basic cable to find the next big actor. An actor who Nickelodeon would like to be trans.

Calling it the Michael D. Cohen Trans Youth Acting Challenge, the casting call asks aspiring trans and non-binary actors living in the US or Canada to submit audition tapes by 23 December. Twelve finalists will take part in a Zoom acting masterclass with Cohen, and then an online webinar with Nickelodeon’s casting team.

Cohen told The Advocate that he was inspired to launch the challenge after getting messages from trans youth who wanted to act but were afraid their transness would get in the way.

“It breaks my heart that these kids question their creativity or dreams because of their gender identity,” Cohen said. “So I wanted to do something that would help trans kids who love acting get access to opportunities that they wouldn’t ordinarily have.”

Cohen continued: “If communities who have been historically beaten down and disregarded are going to claim their equal place in our society, it needs to happen at least in part by people in positions of power opening up the gates and offering up a place to nurture.

“And that’s exactly what Nickelodeon is doing by being my partner in this project.”

He added that he wants trans youth to know that “there are adults out there who care about their journey as artists”, and that as well as having trans actors play trans roles, it’s also important that trans people play characters who don’t have trans experience.

“I want kids to know that their trans experience does not have to limit their possibilities,” Cohen said. “It doesn’t have to define everything they do, including the characters they play.

“My hope is that this initiative will increase the possibilities for these actors by expanding roles for them and also reinforcing their own belief in themselves.”

For context, the role Michael D. Cohen plays on Henry Danger(a live Nick sitcom about a kid that sidekicks to a bumbling but smart superhero) is that of the foreigner janitor/butler/engineer of their Batcave. The character's name is "Schwoz"

Even in this clip you can see the presenting-male character in a dress played for laughs, and also shirtless in a shower towel gag(nipples are mercifully obscured). Trannies have no standards or morals.

Nickelodeon was shit even before they decided to go woke, and yes that is my nostalgia bias talking.
The 90s were peak Nickelodeon after they abandoned their live action children's television programming in the 80s.

But the executives had standards and practices that limited creativity.

The gay agenda ended up being two nice guys inviting you and your wife over for wine and steaks while your dogs play in the yard.

The trans agenda is everything the religious right incorrectly feared the gay agenda was: militant, pedophilic, and propagandistic.
Yes we understand you're a homosexual male, don't need to make that anymore clear than you already have. Blaming trannies isn't going to save you.
Simping for what allowed transgenderism in the first place doesn't make you any better than the "pedophilic, militant propagandistic" agenda pushers. You enable the exact same people and then act shocked when wow you get the same result.

The transgender community is the biggest threat to gay and lesbian rights in this country, but nobody is allowed to say that because transgender is higher up in the oppression hierarchy.
The more you think about it, the stranger it gets.

Most trans are MtF. MEN pushing that they are women, now with little effort. It's that population that are pushing degeneracy with sex.

It's more satirical in and of itself, like they are indirectly trying to sabotage the gay and straight communities with their policies and behavior, while making fun of women and straight sex relationship.

Granted John K. had to fight tooth and nail to get the shit he wanted approved but the fact that a lot of crazy shit made it in meant that they were at least willing to be lenient.

Ironically this wasn't explained in the show, unlike with Rocko's Modern Life where showrunner Joseph Murray snuck in production hassles and clashes with Nick execs by turning them into in-show gags(Wacky Deli). Further twist, Rocko's Modern Life got a sequel movie on 2019 and the plot revolves around an old character going trans and their family not dealing well with it, despite the father being a clownfaggot.

The episode where Stimpy makes a cartoon comes pretty close to that though.

Otherwise if you own the DVD's theres plenty of commentary by the crew including John K who specifically explains how certain jokes were kept in the cartoon or removed from it.

That's the one that appeared on Netflix, right? Thank christ I didn't see it then.

Our mutual desire for cocks is completely beside the point to the topic at hand.

Counterpoint and supporting argument to your point:

Nickelodeon wanted Ren & Stimpy to be educational but Spucmo refused. The high ratings from Ren & Stimpy allowed SOME leeway from the executives. Some stuff still had to be omitted. It doesn't help that John K. himself was behind on deadlines and took things a bit TOO far.

Rocko's Modern Life would be a better example of Nickelodeon allowing creative freedom for them. It was the exception than the rule.

Ed, Edd n Eddy, a Cartoon Network cartoon, was originally pitched to Nickelodeon but Nick wanted complete oversight which Antonucci refused.
