Nihilism - Is it relevant nowadays?

Existential nihilism came into view as a proposed concept mainly during the 19th century, a time of cultural change, scientific advancement, and religious conflict. Nietzsche himself described its rise as belonging to modern Western society. And so, it's fair to say this nihilism was not only relevant, but perhaps needed. What about now? Is it a truly effective way of thinking this day and age?

What do y'all think?

I'll probably make a more detailed OP later, but let's just say I'm a fucking nerd that writes essays for fun.

Oh yeah. About those guys.

Most nihilist are just edgy teens going through their emo phase and the nihilist mind set can be extremely depressing/demotivating
I know this because I was one going through my edgy teen years and basically said "fuck this, whats the point, we are all gonna die anyways, what good will good do, and what difference does it make if we act evil". Luckily I got out of that mindset and feel less depressed

Honestly I find that thinking that the universe, does indeed have in inherent meaning more lazy than just accepting the fact that It doesn't. It has subjective meaning which is IMHO better than some pre-determined cosmic porpuse which we are enslaved to follow. I mean, If there's indeed a galactic reason for our existence. Can we defy It? If yes, can we be better than If we did follow It blindly, making said stellar porpuse useless? If not is all our suffering part of a universal conspiracy?

Look, I am not triying to be edgy I don't care about that, I just want some evidence that proves this quantic significance to our lives.

Nihilism is actually completely correct when you get past the superficial elements emotionally malignant teenagers use to justify their apathetic pessimism.

There's a lot of fucking freedom and power you get from accepting nothing matters. Nietzsche was also completely correct about religion being the codification of slave morality. It literally is the acceptance of a shitty life because the next one will totes be better. Shame you can't really communicate that without people calling you an edgy fedora tipper.

Likewise, the actual concept of the ubermensch is fucking spot on, as it's all about turning yourself into a superhero IRL. But again, it's been tainted in the common eye by idiots appropriating it to justify racist power fantasies.

The only thing I don't really agree with Nietzsche on is his contempt for democracy. For starters, his assertion it's Christianity's heir feels poorly-thought out when it was invented by the Greeks he had such a hard-on for. Also, I just generally detest authoritarianism so I have a hard time swallowing the idea giving power to the people is some kind of defective thinking.

Dude, the Übersmench is fucking retarded. Morality doesn't come out of anyone, you are essentially going back to a more primitive state of religion when common people were, trough legend made into Gods. The truth about morality is that Is absolutely subjective, even If you guide yourself by a code given to you by The Bible or your parents, you are just giving into their concept of morality. Sure, you should try to improve yourself to the best extent that you can, if you really want, but doing It for anyone but yourself, is a big mistake, because other people will never be satisfied with who you are, they will just accept your flaws and care for you that way, but you will never, ever be a guiding beacon of correctness for everyone, not even most people.

The definition of nihilism.

Edgy posturing and tryhard tough guyism is the exact opposite of nihilism because it's just making yourself seem cool to other slaves. A proper ubermensch doesn't bitch and moan about how hard he has it.

Nihilism is about cucking the world, not being a cuck yourself.
