I remember them from the whole Arkh Project fiasco. I wanted to legitimately believe they, like many other "indie game devs", got way too over their heads making their first project's scope way too large and dived into the crowdfunding before having at least proof of concept for their game. I wanted to believe they were innocent, but then their previous failed projects were brought into light, as well as their hateful attitudes towards...well, everyone, the innocence is gone.

The most damning thing was that anyone who called out the Arkh Project was deemed racist/cissexist/any other -ist you can think of, even the people who were just critiquing the project itself. I only had a brief interaction with "Miaka Chiba" on the Arkh's Facebook group, and I could only conclude that said person was Riley. Miaka/Riley and their Arkh cronies blasted on this white chick for asking for any update on the development. Even though game development takes years, it's at least nice to acknowledge that by keeping your fans updated?

I could forgive the previous projects failing, because at least they didn't ask for money, but I'm certain Riley's going to have a future "big game for queer PoC" game project fundraiser in the future..

She even pioneered the whole "be an arsehole in the name of EssJay" thing on LiveJournal, long before she migrated to Tumblr.

I remember her being an incredibly aggressive and nasty person on various comms and a power-tripping mod on some RP community (I think it was bad-rpers-suck).

She rab off to tumblr after someone made a grudgepost about her on sf_drama and dug up the old entries where she called people racial slurs and made rape jokes. She deleted her accounts, disappeared of LJ and was reborn as the Ur-Tumblrina.

TLDR: she managed to embody the worst of Tumblr SJW before Tumblr.

I remember, I was there when she was wreaking havoc on that community. I think I mentioned it before in this thread, but it was quite a while ago. Basically she would nitpick the tiniest little things in the person's post and derail the whole conversation into an insane witch hunt, and when anyone tried to get things back on topic she'd post that stupid "Derailing for Dummies" site she made (which was pretty much a big list of "this is all the reasons you're not allowed to disagree with me") and accuse them of being bigots. No one stopped her because at the time, I don't think anyone knew how to react to a person like that. She was more or less ahead of her time in the "screeching sjw" department so a lot of people went along with it so they wouldn't seem like bad people. It was really annoying because most were just there to read bad RP horror stories, not be lectured by an idiot. When she got banned, the backpedaling from the other mods who had tolerated this shit was astounding and even then a lot of them still defended her.

The whole thing was such a huge mess, especially when she dragged all this shit to Tumblr and actually found an audience.

I was never part of BRPS, but Riley's behaviour on there made the rounds on other drama communities because she was basically Kylie Brooks levels of dicatorial modship.

And yeah, the backpedaling after she left was amazing. Everyone sho'd sucked her off suddenly started proclaiming they'd realised what a terrible human being she was.
The sudden bouts of self-flagellation from her former co-mod koshkabegemot was especially glorious.
